do you really have to include so many mods and wads like i just want a manager not a bunch of mods im not even gonna play
Yes, I do!
It is all in one solution in the first place, so newcomers don't have to **** with engines, load order, main wad, and etcetera.
OK

I appreciate the time it took to produce this mod - as with all mods it's purely a labor of love. This was the first thing I downloaded as a "mod" and - well it does what it says on the tin. It loads doom, it adds the mods, it didn't give me a headache - the first time around. After playing the included brutaldoom mod the vanilla game, I wanted more. I didn't much care for the included level packs, but appreciate their inclusion. I downloaded another WAD from the game - it was a big pain in the ***. This is where the headache came to be. I watched the instructions, and I was following them as described, but no luck. My WAD would continue to be overwritten by the "Example file". I wouldn't put it passed me to have messed this up somewhere, but I don't think I had. I think there IS promise here, especially if you mix together a dozen or so mods into smaller presets and ask the player to choose,
such as:
1: (Mod 1 + Mod 2 + Mod 3) [Vanilla]
2: (Mod 3 + Mod 1 + Mod 4) [Level: ABC]
3: (Mod 6 + Mod 2 + Mod 7) [Level: XYZ]
etc
give the player the advanced options to still choose which mods run with which wads and all that good stuff, of course, but a far better approach imho would be to have it as a painless prompt to pick a pack of WADS and get into the shootin'.
I think, based on what you've shown me with the program, this is what would work best and really push this forward. I would love it if I could download a file, select a WAD pack and get blasting.
Hopefully I didn't come off as a major douche, thank you for the free software and a few hours of fun. Take my advice or don't it's your software man!
Bro, sorry for the late response!
I`ve tried to install some stuff and it works as intended. Can't help there.
For mod preset:
1. Instal the mod with no files, but give it a name.
install\mod\files\1\nothing, empty
install\mod\name\some name.txt
2. Instal your mods like addons (go to setting, addon selector), and choose them in the settings menu.
file in "install\addon\file" will be used for EVERY preset/mod
file in "install\MOD_addon\file" will be used ONLY for the current mod (see below Mod: Name)
All that is obvious for me, because I wrote that s**t) So feel free to ask!
After you select Brutal Doom, look at settings, mod addons, there some addons. That program might be confusing, but try to mess with it)
Check the program name when you launch it. It must be:
No Headache Mod Manager // UPDATE 6 -- 11/06/2021
Maybe you have an old version with bug.
Any example files cannot overwrite anything, because they are deleted during installation.
do you have permission to include other peoples WADs and mods in this? doing that without permission (and without the proper credits) is the sort of thing that can get you banned.

if even one of the mods/wads you have included hasn't been approved by the author and they complain to moddb you'd be banished to the nether realm until you remove their resources. besides that it's just bad etiquette to reupload other people's work without their permission. for instance, i know for certain that the author of BtSX is very particular about who can and cannot use their work because the series isn't completed yet.
Thanks for warning. I just hope they would not care, to be honest. If it will bug someone, I will remove that.
Credits file is included in download.
I just wanted to make their work more accessible and get more people to DOOM modding. I feel I am doing not really the bad thing :)
Statement about BtSX is not true:
"You MAY distribute this file, provided you include this text file, with no
modifications"
Maybe I should include all original credits files. But again, I am too leasy to care for now.
