Malice for Quake - patched, minor model and texture fixes applied, music included for modern Quake engines.
All credits are included in readme.files, including credits for the patch that was used here (It was missing the whole time and the patch author's alias is "Elfor").
Great work! I did a review of and its honestly pretty dope. I'll spread the message that this is up!
Good to hear that mate! Does everything work in this package? I just need to make sure that it isn't a barely working mess because Quake CD roms and TCs were added to the ModDB page fairly rescently and this package was out for months.
does this mod works with the steam version of quake??
It does!
or maybe i have missunderstud this, does thise come with the entire game and mod or is thise only a patch
Malice itself is a commercial Total Conversion FOR Quake, it's not standalone, just like Shrak for example. It's already patched but I left the patch zip file itself in the download just in case
so how does it runs? i have tryied to run it and it shows a 32 windows compatibility error
Yes.
also get Murder At The Disco map by Kayne. 2020 map for Malice.
I'm not sure how to get the music to work
Honestly, the best way to go about it is to use a source port and make sure all of the music is placed in a music folder, along with a config for it.
Keep in mind though, some source ports have different file structures and paths for music.
QS, QSS, and Mark V only can use .mp3 files placed in the folder, where as ports like Darkplaces typically uses .ogg files placed in an entirely different folder.
I added a tracklist.cfg file for engines like Quakespasm. Mark V detects all music automatically if you place all the tracks in the "music" folder

Hey all.
Thanks for the patch. I've been trying to get this working for ages. I always get disheartened at the missing key in the second level. Thanks for fixing that.
The last bug I've found is the dudes from the box-art are missing from the waist up. This seems to happen in all the source ports I've tried it on (Dark Places, Direct Quake, QuakeSpasm, MarkV). I've also looked up videos of other people playing on Youtube and it seems I'm not the only one. Does anyone know how to fix this?
is this freeware?
well, it's not in stores, that's for sure
I read that SHRAK works using a source port called DirectQ direct3d quake... it uses directx 9c
Makes me feel old looking at the original CD cover. I still have all the quake ISO's mods etc.. Looking for a fast dump to give them away. Thanks for this. I'll start tweaking it up with DP engine
