The time is finally here.. After a year of hard work, we’re pleased to show off our first iteration of the mod that you’ll all no doubt be familiar with, that Wector originally released back in 2009, remastered for the current generation. As it’s Star Wars day, we felt this would be the perfect time to give something back to the community and hopefully re-ignite some of the passion we all have for Star Wars.
As the mod starts to run, you’ll begin to notice some big improvements across the board and we hope you’ll be pleased and appreciate all these new changes that’s been made and gone in to the mod’s development, to bring it up to standard of some of the more modern Jedi Academy mod’s out there, such as “Movie Battles II”.
As this is our first iteration of the mod, it is only a Beta, so you may no doubt run in to some minor bugs and glitches, along the way. Some, the team are aware of, but feel free to post and leave any feedback about any bugs you find, so we can get them addressed and fixed, for when the final version of the mod is released.
But enjoy the updated version and rest assured, that the team are still constantly working hard to deliver a fun and immersive Star Wars experience.

List of some KEY improvements, over the original mod:
- Mod is using OpenJK as its primary game engine.
- New & accurate lightsaber blades (the "movie-like" SFX Sabers have been added).
- New & more accurate lightsaber sounds.
- Faster lightsaber ignition speed.
- New animations and duel stances for most of main SW characters.
- New camera angles.
- New & improved player models.
- New & more movie "accurate" skyboxes and map textures.
- HD audio dialogues, music and option for subtitles.
- Expanded character menu and basic menus with more options.
Installation
========================================
Note - Before you start the installation you must remove any other Modifications in your "LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\Game data\base" folder. Critical bugs can occur if Movie Duels is combined with other mods.
1. Remove old MD2 version (2009) from your Gamedata folder.
2. Extract files from MD_Beta.zip to your Gamedata folder. For example: "LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\Gamedata" folder.
3. To Play you have to double-click on STAR_WARS_-_Movie_Duels.bat in Gamedata folder.
4. To uninstall just delete files that were extracted.

Great mod! I have this one idea....You can add the Sith overlord Darth jar-jar! He's better than the regular one.
Also you could replace the geonisan decals with actual geonisans in episode 2 arena.

hi so how do i install the mod i have a fresh vanilla copy of the game from steam not run it yet and what does this mod do does it make the game look better with updated graphics ect ?

why is it that when i try a mode it crashes and says openjk has stopped
and why does it always go back to the main menu when i try to go to the new game
its giving me a system error "the code execution cannot proceed Because MSVCP140.dll was Not Found."

I got that too i fixed after hours of looking on the internet i found this Microsoft.com It fixed all those missing files it re downloads them and fixes corrupted ones if your running a 64-bit system and processor then download this one vc_redist.x86.exe if your running a 34-bit system and processor then download this one vc_redist.x64.exe after downloading open it and let it make changes to your computer if you get that popup after installing it then restart your computer and it should start working if you did it right.
If you don't know your processor there is a bunch of videos showing you how to find out it says in your system settings.

Im still getting the same issue where it crashes to desktop. I did a completely new installation of Jedi Academy but i dont know what the problem is.
I had no mods in base and it still crashed.
i dont understand why every time i select a level it brings me back to the menu and it won let me click on anything eles plz help
You have to start the mod through the folder you can also create a shortcut once you get to the folder so you can start the mod without going into the folder. Started the mod through the game in the mods menu doesn't work that is why you cant start any missions.

ok just want to go through the steps one by one ok go to the jedi academy gamedata folder if you installed it right there should be a file called STAR_WARS_-_Movie_Duels you need to double click it for it to start if it works than go back to the gamedata and right click STAR_WARS_-_Movie_Duels and pick create shortcut then the shortcut will appear in the gamedata folder you need to drag the shortcut to the desktop. If STAR_WARS_-_Movie_Duels is not in the gamedata folder then read the install instructions again and to every step if it still doesn't work then i don't know what could be wrong. if STAR_WARS_-_Movie_Duels is in the gamedata folder and wont work then remove it from the folder along with MD2 and try installing it again.
Hey Tompa when the character menu has submenus added will there be more characters or old characters from the 2009 version be added like Jango Fett, Clone Commando, etc.

I installed it and launched the game and when i try to play anything the game just crashes. is it a problem on my end or just a bug?

Unfortunately I dont know. We havent done Mac support.
Is there a way to put these movie like six sabers into the regular base game? I would love to use these in the campaign or multiplayer. Not so much the sounds but the sabers
