Would a faster combat submod be possible? I love battle atmosphere with this mod but combat is insanely slow. Cannons don't hit anything, full regiments fire but only get 2-3 kills and cavalry walks everywhere, refuses to run even when 'charging' and when they connect their melee lasts for 5 minutes.

I could probably mod the DB so infantry would be more accurate at hitting things and make them rout less but sadly I don't think I can do anything about the AI.

I would say leave it as is. Part of what I love about NTW3 is the slower pace, and this capitalizes on it too. Sorry if it's boring, but it's realistic having short ranges and low accuracy for infantry, clumsy formations, and a higher emphasis on pre-battle planning and maneuver for a 18th century game.

yea also I feel like troops will withdraw much to easy even when they aren't being flanked

Is there any chance we could get tighter formations for more than just the 1.0 factions?

So with this latest version are all the missing textures fixed on units? I tried playing this mod a few months back but there was to many missing textures.

yup, the devs fixed a ton of stuff with the newest rotr update (rotr 1.2); if you're asking about the submod no, all it does is add tighter formations

Alright, I fixed and uploaded the new file. This time the French republic should have tighter formations, sorry for the inconvenience..

I have a recommendation for Imperial Splendour:

Early campaign start version

hmm.. This is possible but it will take a decent amount of time, for now I recommend using either ROTR or the older versions which have an early campaign start. I also heard the developers will do an early campaign after they are finished with ROTR, although it may take a lot of time too..

can you make it like ntw group formation, like when you choose 2 units its really spread out so i was wondering if you could minimize the the space between two units (regiments) in battle

It's probably really simple - but I have not figured out how to do it, yet.. It'll take some time to search through the twcenter forums but it's definitely possible - the question is if most people want it integrated into the tighter formations submod or have it as a standalone version with the tighter formations (both are possible by just creating 2 subfolders with the db files)

hey, It is no longer working for me. I put in the file and replaced it but nothing changes.

that's weird.. which faction are you playing as? or is there generally no more tight formations for any faction? If it's a minor faction, it's supposed to be like that since I haven't modded some of them yet..
