This map pack is compatible with GoldenEye: Source 4.2.4. It contains the official Archives Classic and two third-party maps, Train and Blockfort. Enjoy and happy new year!
We're working bit by bit every day on next release. We only update moddb with main releases and stuff like these releases. If you want more small news updates on stuff we're working on and more info when time comes on a new release, I suggest you follow our forum or our Facebook/Twitter. Thank for the ongoing interest.
When you extract the folder there will be a folder within labeled 'gesource' drag and drop that onto the 'gesource' folder in GoldenEye's files and it will add all the necessary files into it.
There was once talk of a single player campaign, but that was before the Team suffered a huge loss in 2004.
Now, they're just trying to make the most of what is already finished now.
Which is a shame as a revamped campaign would be awesome.
I know about the loss back when it was a discussion about Single player.
But what is keeping them from NOT doing it? If they don't have the time for it I wish they released the Source files so we (the community) could make it.
It's been said a lot of times that GE:S is (and probably will always be) only the multyplayer part.
However, the source code is released so anyone can contribute with it, even for singleplayer campaign.
They "can't" work on it mostly because it would require ton of coding work, and there are not enough developers for that.
Single player is a lot of work. Sure we could tweak a lot of our maps and use them. However all new animations need to be made, would need voice actors if wanted voices, all the programming that goes along with the ai and everything.
We do open source our code. It's on github and people can submit stuff, and do what they want. However, if someone in the community is good at any field that they think they could help the cause, it's a lot more benificial to join the team and get all the support from our team.
Our team is small. One main programmer, a couple modelers/texture artists, handful of mappers, couple sound devs. We need more people. We're working as hard as possible with the few people we have for completely free and only spare time.
We appreciate the community and offer all our support we can to help with maps like these and other community projects.
This is my favorite Source engine mod, you guys are doing great work. Just releasing small level packs that remind people how awesome this mod is is great.
I can't play the game. It told me the hl2.exe doesn't work. I've download the v4.2 version. Can someone help me please? I've already uninstalled the game and re-download the game but it doesn't work.
So to add these maps do you just have to go to go to each individual folder for maps, materials, models, scripts and sound and add the files to each respective folder in steamapps>sourcemods>gesource?
Will we see any new updates soon? Or any new information?

How do you use the map pack? Do the extracted files go into a certain folder??

Any chance of getting a singleplayer campaign going?
I'd love to see a singleplayer campaign!
