BuzzyBots 2.3d is an "unofficial" release. The author of this file, and packager of the BuzzyBots23d.ZIP file was not part of the original BuzzyBots development team – just a fan who wanted to play it under Steam, setup a dedicated BuzzyBots server, and make it easier for other fans to play BuzzyBots under Steam. This file was packaged on November 30th, 2005. This file was packaged by – not any member of original BuzzyBots development team. BuzzyBots 2.3d, is essentially:
- BuzzyBots version 2.3, extracted from the previous "official" release file (BuzzyBots_v23.exe).
- Included the updated (by "killerwombat666"?) BuzzyBots\gfx\shell\kb_act.lst file to allow Steam GUI to properly parse configuration settings. The old pre-Steam version of this file didn’t parse correctly under Steam and caused keyboard mapping settings to not be configurable under the GUI.
- Included additional files in the BuzzyBots\Resource folder (created by "killerwombat666") to provide information that the Steam GUI requires to provide a proper "splash" screen and start-up options.
- Replaced the reference to BuzzyBots.dk (which no longer works) in the liblist.gam file to instead refer to the ModDB page for BuzzyBots (https://www.moddb.com/mods/buzzybots).
- Re-zipped and distributed as a .ZIP file instead of a .EXE file. This was done in part to allow easier server setups, but also because these days people are wary about downloading and running executable archives off the Internet.

It was fun. I played it with some bots.
I don't understand why but this version doesn't come with the default keys to change team/class, first/third person, kamikaze suicide, disable/enable radar and the radio chat (not even appear in the Settings menu) like in the original WON version. If you want to add them, copy and paste this at the end of your "BuzzyBots\gfx\shell\kb_act.ls":
