Full changelog:
Languages:
- Fixed reported typos.
- Improved unclear descriptions of units, abilities and upgrades.
Global Balance Changes:
- Turret Machine Guns firing arc decreased from 360° (180° to both sides) to 120° (60° to both sides). This makes it slightly easier to flank tanks and vehicles with a turret mounted Machine Gun.
American:
- Fixed a bug where the M4 'Assault' Sherman could not target Bunkers and other Structures.
- Turret M2hb .50cal HMGs weapon tables fixed. This is a flat nerf for the weapon, as it had a way too high DPS at all ranges.
- M2 60mm Mortar Setup time increased from 1.5s to 2.4s, to match all other mortars.
- M26 Pershings come no longer with a Tank Commander by default. An upgrade which also gives the same modifiers as all Tank Commanders can now be purchased individually for each tank.
Commonwealth:
- Added a special Campaign-only Canadian Infantry squad to the Headquarters Command Truck, who can be deployed in certain missions. This squad is more similar to the Infantry Section:
* Three upgrades available: Flamethrower, Bren Light Machine Gun or a Boys AT Rifle.
* The ability to throw Grenades and Sprint.
- Fixed a bug where the Tetrach was unable to fire its main gun after upgrading the Littlejohn Adapter.
- Fixed the missing Flamethrower for the Canadian Infantry.
- PIAT reliability at medium and long ranges has been increased.
Wehrmacht:
- Fixed a bug where the Sturmhaubitze 42 could not target Bunkers and other Structures.
Panzer Elite:
- 81mm Gr.34 Mortar Halftrack setup time increased from 2.2s to 2.4s, to match all other mortars.
Campaign:
- Liberation of Caen: M01 Authie
* Increased initial munition count to 600
* Decreased emplacement build time from 0.5 of original build time to 0.35
- Liberation of Caen: M03 Carpiquet
* Fixed missing Canadian Infantry in the Headquarters Command Truck
- Liberation of Caen: M04 Carpiquet: The Airfield
* Fixed missing Canadian Infantry in the Headquarters Command Truck
AI:
- Crucial AI attack priority logic improvements for Easy, Medium and Hard AI
- Fixed an important bug where AI would stop controlling its units
- AI reinforcing is now controlled manually through scar making AI not waste any time reinforcing its units
- Improved heavy weapon setup logic
- Improved early game attack logic slightly
- Improved axis AI logic for purchasing pak38
- Slightly improved AI artillery targeting logic (preventing AI from targeting single squads too often)
- Decreased priority for some AI point types to prevent it from clumping units
- Removed low priority markers from all the maps to prevent potential issues with them (they weren't placed properly)
- Decreased Assault Sherman priority
- Decreased Fuel bonuses
- Increased Munition bonuses to match manpower bonuses
- Slightly changed 3rd level of production purchase logic, eliminating the cases where the upgrade would switch back and forth
i have troubles in playing the panzer elite campaign
Sorry about that! The campaign will have some troubles for sure. Working on fixing the bugs of the campaign is actually extremely time consuming and we're yet to properly fix everything. PE campaign is something we still haven't looked at at all. Again, sorry. Also, I can't promise anything about actually fixing it any time soon :(
I have played more than 300 games in CoH, and maybe 70 in the previous version of back to basics.
IA is overpowered again. After one hour and half of methodic game, with a slow and safe advance of my troops, I surrounded their base but was impossible for me to destroy their defences. I was playing german with terror doctrine. I had a mixture of all the weapons and the americans (Hard computer), had a combination of antitank guns (a lot of them), mortars and infantry with bazookas.
I reinforced my troops, I attacked together with all the guns, but I couldnt do anything. I was destroying their buildings, but their infantry didnt die. They reinforced theirselves all the time. I lost all my army at the end and I got bored. I lost SS Infantry, a King Tiger, a Tiger, three anti-air tanks, iron cross infantry, grenadiers, etc.
Man, you have to allow the special attacks at the enemy base (I mean for example fire storm or the V1 rocket). Unless it changes, I think its rather impossible to have a dinamic game.
@Bortighaun I will say one thing to you...Learn how to play, and than you can say somthing like that! The AI in this mod is the best I've ever seen in a mod! To bad the mod donĀ“t have expanded command trees, like BK, EaW, etc
Hey guys, is there any possibilities to expand the command trees? is the only I hate in your mod is the command trees only a few things changed from vannila game -.-
I'm not sure I mind that much, but it would be nice to be able to use all those command point I have after I have fulled both trees.
how do you install this mod on the new steam version
Hey guys ,this is a fantastic mod for coh ,and I just want to know ,are you guys still working on the next version of Back to Basics ,because i found it poses a fatal problem when i try to play the pe campaign missions. i am looking forward to the next update.
l just download this and it is great mod but when l decide to slack and play with ai . ai easy british dont not do anything but just use their command truck and charge to the point (high income) but the road is block(by german) so their constant go there and died is instead of just going everytime they should adopt new tactic or change instead for just going to the same point
How to play this in 2.7XXX version?
Well, in the last week I've played Skirmish and The Caen Campaign with Blitzkrieg, Europe at War and now Back to Basics. There is simply no comparison. Back to Basics is the most rational, balanced and fun of the 3 mods and far better than vanilla.
If you plan on playing any of the non German factions you need this mod. If you are one of those who believes all of the hype about the nazis in WWII then avoid this mod like the plague. I lost the first 3 skirmish battles with this mod just because the AI is so clever. The AI builds are now diverse and their tactics are nasty.
Be aware that this game lives to to its name, there are no flashy skins or much evidence that the mod is even active, until the AI kicks your ***. Infantry are far more useful, and the lowered crits makes no particular thing overpowering. I've come from just using flamthrower tanks and mortars in EAW to using everything again.
Brilliant mod, all it needs is some new skins to be perfect.
To start a skirmish game against the AI before I close the game and redo it again (resume). the base and 'black and nothing moves. this and 'one of the bugs I found. This problem with this mod (which for me and 'one of the best of CoH 9/10) there is' the' always had.Good job.
hi, i still got the tetrach main gun bug after upgraded little john adapter, even i successfully updated to v3.1
im playing 2.602
