The War of the Houses (Lotharingia) is a mod that aims to change the player's view of the game compared to what has been done in other mods so far. As you may have gathered from the mod's title, you will not be playing a kingdom or a people but a dynasty or a great noble family.
New version with bug fixes and a few additions. Character names and new music have been added for all factions. New portraits have also been added for all characters (generals, spies, etc.). This version has been tested and no bugs or crashes were reported during the mod testing, but if there are any, please let us know.
If you notice this or similar problems, we'll fix it in a patch or in the next version of the mod:
- A portrait of Baudouin de Saint-Omer is missing.
- Problem with the ancillary of the town of Veurne (Furnes).
- The name of the diplomat from the House of Ponthieu is not displayed.
We hope you enjoy the current version and have fun! We're aware that there's still a lot of work to be done and we're delighted to announce that this will normally be the last alpha of the mod. The next version will be released with the new campaign map, of which here are a few images !
Feel free to share your experience in the comments and tell us what you think !
Congrats on the new release! Looks very promising
Thank you very much ! We hope you like it ! Don't hesitate to give us feedback on the version ;)
I love the idea of the mod having all those houses near each over is great and it is a geographic zone on which almost no mods have been made ! Just a bit scared of the lack of troops diversity but very good job !!
Hello !
Thank you very much for your comment. I understand your concern about units and it's something we're trying to plan for in case we add units (something we can't do at the moment as we don't have anyone in the team to create new units).
To mark the differences, we'll be relying on a roster of regional and cultural units. For example, Norman and Flemish knights will only be recruitable in Normandy or Flanders. There will be the militia from the vanilla game, but I'd like the game to incorporate a French urban militia (which existed in the north of France and were present during the Battle of Bouvines) and a Flemish urban militia (present during the Battle of the Golden Spurs). These militias can only be recruited if you are French or Flemish respectively.
Similarly, only Latin factions (ecclesiastical principalities and the Imperial Church) will be able to recruit Crusader units or units from military orders.
I hope I've been able to answer your comment, so don't hesitate to ask any other questions you may have ! ;)

I tried your mod and it's fun, if you can give the units some new skins it would be amazing, maybe some new castle and city models would be cool as well.
The Knut script appears twice, maybe that's a bug IDK, the Pope mission to raise Catholic religion in a region needs to be changed to Culture, was playing one of the German houses and once I got German culture up I got the reward for the mission?
Keep up the good work.
Hi there !
We'd love to add skins and do a huge amount of work on the units, but unfortunately we don't have anyone who knows how to work on this part of the mod, so if you know someone who knows how to work on units on M2TW, don't hesitate ;)
Next, the script appears twice, the first time announcing the faction's appearance in the game, and the second time announcing that it has landed. For the mission, we'll change the vocabulary, thanks 😉
Created a Preview and Tutorial video for this very interesting mod. All thanks to Andrew1830 for the hard work.
Hi ! I just watched the video and thank you for this very positive video about the mod. Thanks also for the compliments but it's a team effort above all and it's thanks to the people who helped develop the mod like dadasauvage , TEN.Sylvain and SVNOB*REPVS but also to the people who test our versions, to limit crashes and bugs, before releasing a new version of the mod 😁
