It's probably not the file but your extractor. Just use WinRAR, that'll work forever. Even if you have the evaluation copy.

Why not 7zip? Works as good or even better than winrar + it's free software.

I'm assuming it's 7zip he's using now, evidently it doesn't work. (Implying that's the case, and not an error with his software specifically)

Extracting the mod worked for me.

However, more on-topic, I think the UI is too crowdy and not clean. Furthermore, the resolution of the UI also looks very low, that is a shame because everything else for the mod looks so good!

I installed the mod and everything correctly, nut every time i try to play a custom battle or the campaign i got a "unspecified error". is there any way to get it to work?

The "unspecified error" is something I get too, but in my case it is in campaign mode and right before my next turn comes around it crashes. I do thoroughly enjoy the game, but I was on turn 300 playing as the Storm Kings, conquered everything up to the neck. Now I cannot progress to the next turn without it crashing...oh well. It has happened to me in Empire Total War once and I survived. The game is amazing though!

Thanks! Try shifting the units around and ending the turn again maybe? I've never gotten that far in a game before...

Also one thing if your changing the file name to americas change the other americas file to like americas .original or something because if you have the kingdoms pack it will conflict if you have 2 americas files.

I've followed the install instructions, but when I click on AOPK.bat, it takes me to the normal kingdoms launcher, which doesn't show Petty Kings as an option (the other kingdoms campaigns are listed, as is the stainless steel mod). I've tried renaming the folder americas and launching, but it failed to launch. I then tried rewriting the AOPK.bat file to say 'cd ..\..
start kingdoms.exe @mods\americas\AOPK.cfg', which takes me to the launcher. When I try to play the americas campaign, it relaunches the launcher. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

NB I'm a steam user.

Batch file is incompatible with windows 8 & 8.1

Try renaming it "americas" and launching that campaign then.

I have attempted the campaign twice with different factions and both times the game will not go pass turn 251. Every time I hit "end turn" the game crashes with an unspecified error.

Wow, that's a long campaign... I've personally never gone past 50 turns. I think that probably has to do with a hard limit set on the number of turns. I can probably extend that for 2.0, but I just didn't know any games went on for that long. Can you post pics of the map? I'd be interested to see ;).

the Steam update just removed the launcher, so AoPK won't load. Any ideas on how to fix?

Try WinRAR, that one's the best.

I don't have 8 so I'm not sure, but I hear the batch file won't work for you. Maybe try and rename the mod folder "americas" and launch the americas campaign?

Hi, I would love to play this mod. But, when running the APOK.bat file I get the 'unspecified error' after seeing about 1 second of the loading screen. Any idea of what could go wrong?

Have you renamed the Petty_Kings folder by any chance? Also, did you create the "kingdoms" shortcut I described in the instructions?

If not those, I would advise renaming the folder "americas" (back up the other "americas"), and just launch the Americas campaign like you normally would. Good luck!

You need to make sure you have a kingdoms.exe file. If you don't, copy the one I talked about in the instructions.

Hmmm, sometimes I get that too. Try dragging the WINRAR file onto the desktop as soon as its downloaded, and then drag the file out of it from there? If not that then I'm not sure, sorry :(.

Hey Great Mod!!! thanks to steam for mentioning on news feed for game. i love it! Got it to work by renaming the 'americas' file as when purchased through steam, no kingdom folder is created.
only glitch I noticed so far is there are no loaded 'historical battles'. unless these become available later in campaign (?)
anyway, no biggie.. excited to dig in! thanks again

Yeah, historical battles take a lot of work to create from scratch (obviously I couldn't use the one from the base game). I will hopefully create a few for 2.0 though!

After installing all the files, I attempt to launch AOPK.bat, but it cannot find kingdoms.exe. I searched for launcher.exe to rename it, and I don't have that either.

Do you have Kingdoms installed? Also, are you using Steam? If not then maybe just try renaming it americas and play it like that.
