OMG! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!
Okay... No it isn't... In fact, we've been through crashes and attacks countless times before. Our main website and each of our "hosted mods" pages are down.
At least until a fresh account is ready with our host.
Here's the email I received...
Hi,
If you're receiving this email, I unfortunately have very bad news regarding your hosted site with FilesNetwork / FileFront.
Early this morning we had a fatal hard drive crash at the server you were hosted on, as a result, all data is lost permanently. Unless you have backups of your own, it's gone for good :(
I realize this is horrible for those that do not have (recent) backups but considering most of you are pretty tech savvy, I'm hoping the majority of you all have at least some data backed up if not all.
Now, because everything is gone, there's nothing for me to transfer over to our newest server (a very powerful one).
Please email me with your domain name (e.g. Mymod.hl2files.com) and if you remember, your username. I will set up your account from scratch but as said, it wont' have anything in it at all :(
I'm really really really sorry about this and steps will be taken to prevent a repeat in the future.
Please let me know if there's anything I can do for you, I feel really really bad :(
So, some semi-bad news. But... Life goes on.
And I did have back-ups of all the old stories and most of the content. I'll be restoring everything once our new account is set up. But... for the time being, the main site, the GargArena Site, and the Cat-Life site are all down.
I've sent the request email and expect our spot on the new server to be ready fairly soon. Mainly, losses will be a few of the more recent forum posts and our news and blog entries.
While I was at it, I requested a change of URL. Since Jos will need to set up a 'from scratch' account for us, I asked if we could change to bwl.hl2files.com or boredwithlife.hl2files.com. We'll see what he says.
In the mean time, feel free to browse our ModDB profiles for Cat-Life and GargArena.
PS... Never fear. The Barney Time series is safe...
...unless something happens to my computer and CD's.
