This is a collection of custom made mods that aims to improve the most annoying issues with Wind of Time: weapon handling, aim sway, mutant health, script crashes etc.
About this mod
This package contains mods entirely made by me, slight alterations to default files, and some made by others; which gets you the following changes in Wind of Time:
- Removed gun sway when you strafe during ADS. The guns no longer move to the sides at all. These files were taken from a mod made for Call of Pripyat, but I can't find it anymore so I don't know who's the original author
- Significantly reduced health for Chimera, Karlik, Snork and Zombie because they were unreasonably tanky
- Changed the Mercenary Exoskeleton's night vision to a higher tier, because the default one is useless
- Removed mouse sensitivity modifiers from all weapons. Every gun handles the same way now, so the same amount of mouse movement will translate to the same amount of rotation ingame, no matter the weapon equipped
- Replaced the default inventory texture with Call of Pripyat's, which imho improves item visibility and looks nicer
- Fixed [sound_theme.script] to solve a common crash. This was kindly provided by TheMrDemonized
- Stash icons are bright green instead of purple to make them stand out from the map a lot more
This modpack was made for Wind of Time 1.3. It may or may not work with other game versions
Intallation
- Download the mod and extract it to [your Wind of Time folder\gamedata]
- Since Wind of Time uses lots of mods in the [gamedata] folder already, you'll be asked what to do upon file conflicts. Replace all of them with the files from this mod
- Delete or rename [pctrlchk.dll] in [your Wind of Time folder\bin]. For some reason this files stops the game from launching like 9 out of 10 times. Deleting or renaming it fixes the issue, and doesn't seem to cause problems
- Launch the game and enjoy

I never thought I would see the day where I will be able to play Wind of Time without a single game crash or quest bug...
You are an absolutely incredible person for bringing this mod back to life and getting rid of the countless quest bricks, script misfires and random dialogue CTDs. I still vividly remember how I crashed back in 2017 because I tried talking to someone with my pistol out LMAO. This mod is an absolute treasure, and I am currently playing through it and trying to do every possible side quest. I've spent years telling so many people how amazing the fan lore is in this mod, and how much detail went into the area re-design, side quest design and zombie AI overhaul. Now I can finally guide so many people into trying it out thanks to you!!
The sole thing I have noticed (which may have been because of how I resolved the Duty Rifle quest), is that I cannot pick up Zoba's contraband quest? I think that maybe because I killed Driller and his squad in the Army Warehouses, as I did not want to pay him the money, leading to me locking myself out of it, but I cannot be sure unless I test it.
I will post again if I find any crashes, bugs or script misfires, but so far (I am at Agroprom Underground) everything has been smooth as silk!
