A fan made remake of the first Nod mission from Tiberian Sun using the Tiberian Dawn Redux mod.
Please use the latest version of Tiberian Dawn Redux (v1.4) including the patch (v1.44) to be able to play this mission.
To play the mission, simply extract it from the .zip folder into Documents>Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour>Maps and open the game. You will find the map in skirmish under the Unofficial Maps list.
When I first played the Tiberian Dawn Redux mod I absolutely loved it. From the menu screen to the gameplay, the developers have done an excellent job in bringing the dark tones of the first Command and Conquer game to the SAGE engine.
It has inspired me to attempt to recreate the first part of the Nod campaign (vs General Hassan) using the Worldbuilder skills I gained from doing the Rise of the Reds fan-made campaigns.
You will play the part of Anton Slavik, commander of the Black Hand of Nod. Your opponent, of course, will by General Hassan who will command the traditional Nod army for this campaign.
This is a taster of what is to come. I'd like some feedback on mission 1 before attempting to recreate the other 3(?) missions. I might even create my own mission to expand the campaign.
I would like to know the following:
Should I continue to use the Red mission briefings for the intros or solely use the Pop-up Boxes (like the "Harvest the Tiberium to the North")?
Should I try to keep the map art as close to the original missions as possible or add detail to make them less barren?
I hope you enjoy this recreation and as always...
Good luck, Commander.
That is outstanding! I love the fact you went to the effort to replay Tiberian Sun to compare the missions, thank you :)
regarding your description
You should continue using that to keep the originality also the popup boxes is something rare to use
