A chance to stumble when sprinting that depends on weather, health, and weight carried.
Enable Toggle Walk and Crouch in the settings.
The factors that can affect the chance of stumbling are:
Total of 90%.
The computation of probability is 0 to 100, not 0 to 1.
Here is the listed materials that can affect the chance of stumbling, any materials that are not inside the MATERIAL_MULTIPLIER will be 5% by default.
Each materials listed will increase the chance of stumbling when the weather is wet. So try running on a wet surface and see. Any ground materials that are not listed inside the WET_WEATHER_MATERIAL_MULTIPLIER is automatically 10%.
When it's a blowout or psi storm, the weather factor will be the maximum 30%. Why? Of course to increase the suffering.
You can edit these values as long as they are less then or equal to 30 (30%). To know what ground material you are stepping on. Toggle the Console Log option in the MCM.
Why 10% only? Coz most of the time we are travelling with atleast 70% of the total maximum weight capacity.
Health has the greatest chance to make you stumble when sprinting. Coz obviously you can't run well if you're not also feeling well.
All of these factors will be totaled and will be deducted to 100 (100%). Then that will be the chance of you stumbling. When the value of the "stability" variable become 0 through randomization, then you will stumble.
If you have Grok's Body Health system installed then it will play the pain sounds when stumbled. There's also a Bandit Pain Sounds option in the MCM options for fun, coz it's always a fun hearing bandits in pain.

Nice, funny addition ^^
Maybe add a demo video in the description would be nice : )
good luck in the zone !
I already added
where did you add it?
chance to stumble, how much? even 5% chance can be critical if you're running from a fight
How much? It depends on the 3 factors
Very nice since it atleast has some camera effects unlike (Fall addon) but i would suggest adding MCM options (if possible) also my gripe with FALL mod is that you can fall even if bullets hit you (unrealistic imho) also weapon drop concept is great AS LONG AS weapon ONLY drops when you are attacked by Melee (stalkers/mutants hitting you MELEE) otherwise it's pretty unrealistic.
TLDR; my point is if you add weapon drop ability alongside falling when getting hit by melee attacks or CLOSE range grenade explosions then this mod will be a PERFECT replacement for FALL mod especially with (MCM)
Never liked the weapon dropping so I will not make it hehehe, coz sometimes npcs will steal my weapon. The FALL addon has camera effects, that is where I got the camera effects here. That's why I also added the author of the Falls addon on the credits.
I don't like weapon drop either (unless i drop my weapon when i get MELEE) but yeah right now i've a mod that stops weapon dropping and NPC stealing guns i agree 100%. Weird i don't have any falling animation with the FALL addon... very strange, also you could make stumble on stairs when running? like in CRY OF FEAR game. if you sprint when climbing/descending you stumble.
hmmm... I don't know how to detect stairs, just the ground material so I can't do what you are requesting right now. The only closest thing i can think of is the Advanced Stamina System addon where if you go on an elevated surface you will consume more stamina.
I see, FALLS addon has been removed unfortunately, any plans on adding that functionality into your addon? implemented better than FALLS like you basically only fall if you are shot by 50cal or extremely large calibre ammo, and only when melee attacked by mutants stalkers etc.
ALSO you could maybe add a cooldown (500 miliseconds for example) you aren't able to get up after falling?
maybe i'll work on the cooldown in the future. When it comes to falling down by getting shot, i think it's kinda normal to fall down when you got shot. In the Falls addon, you can also fall down when you got attacked by mutants.
Indeed but you don't drop weapon when getting shot, so that wasn't really good in FALLS addon
Just delete line 23-25 and 36-38 in the falls.script to prevent it from weapon dropping
I want weapon drop BUT ONLY if it's from MELEE damage (hope it makes sense)
that's still a no for me, coz enemy npcs will steal my weapon. sorry
Urination, defecation and vomit mechanics when????? I need more immerrrrssioon
Some people play games to escape reality, some of those people wants to make their games as realistic as possible XD. So go out and touch some grass.
I would but everything is covered in snow :(
TBH i don't mind the imersun mods, i just find some of them silly and a bit unbalanced. I myself don't really enjoy the player character being a goddamn space marine that can only be stopped by intense gunfire, and i would love a mod that would overhaul the psy-health system, making the mental state of your character actually important and dependant on many factors (kinda like in CDDA), instead of being a second health bar that exists solely for controllers and rare anomalies. But mods that add hours of fiddling with items and make your character almost disabled? Not in my taste.
Well, vomiting from staying too long in radiated areas or eating rotten meat would be a pretty cool feature to be honest.
Please tell me that falling down is also possible for NPCs?
I have friends who are combat veterans. They all told me that it is COMMON for highly trained men to fall down in the midst of a firefight.
It's due to be terrified.
It's due to being in unfamiliar territory.
It's due to being weary and exhausted.
I'm all for this mod if NPCs are just as likely to fall down.
If it's at all possible, I'd enable it for MUTANTS as well, although I'd reduce their odds of slipping significantly, as they have far more experience dealing with the outdoor elements than a human does. I'd increase their odds of falling based on the their level of injury.
Could you set this up for mods such as Frozen? See:
Moddb.com
Walking on snow and ice should be pretty slippery most of the time, needless to say. That said, when I was younger, I was a paper carrier, and I walked hundreds of miles in the wintertime, and only slipped to a fall a few times. It's amazing how one naturally compensates one's movements in conditions that are expected to be poor and disadvantageous, and the more experience one has in those conditions, the less likely one is to fall from them. Hmm... In light of my reflection on this topic, maybe this mod really doesn't need to be adjusted for mods such as Frozen? I don't know.
Is freshly falling snow and sleet factored in as weather conditions? I'm not sure how the weather is setup for mods such as Frozen.
Can your mod consider the GROUND TERRAIN one is moving in? Walking through a heavily forested area, rife with roots that can snag one's foot, holes that are hidden by leaves and ground debris to stumble into, etc., would be great. Piles of rubble should also increase the odds of slipping and falling.
The time of day should also impact how the ground surface is "read" by the character. The darker it is, the harder it is to properly assess where one's feet are actually going. The negatives of moving in a dark zone could be partially reduced by one's light source. I'd give a bigger bonus to using a flashlight than to wearing NVD's.
Also, is it possible to implement THREE negative consequences? They would be:
- Slipping: Lose control of one's direction for 1 m., staying vertical and with no injury. A surprised grunt sound effect played at the time of the accident.
- Severe slipping: Lose control of one's direction for 1-2 m., being forced into the crouched position and sustaining a mild injury to the legs that causes limping for 10-15 min. unless First Aid is applied. A swear word sound effect is played, with a painful grunt every several minutes till the injury is healed.
- Slip/Stumble: Lose control of one's direction for 1-2 m., being forced into the prone position, and causing 1-2 mild to moderate injuries to the legs and another body part, that then triggers limping for 10-30 min. unless First Aid is applied. A swear word sound effect is played, with a painful grunt every minute till the injury is healed.
Thank you for designing this and freely sharing with the community. I look forward to trying it out in EFP 4 and Gamma.
I don't know anything about AI or NPC stuff. The Ground terrain matter is already implemented and it's part of the weather factor, there are penalties on each ground terrain listed above when it's a wet weather. I also thought about the night or darkness factor, but the procedure or the process of doing it is still not in my knowledge yet.
that is a cool suggestion, but that would be definetly hard to implement. X-ray AI is quite uneasy to fiddle with
I love the idea bud but I was just playing in Radar with good weather fell like 4 times in less than 5 minutes. I think this is one of those mods you should forget you even have installed until once in a great while it happens and you're like , "**** I forgot about that" lol.
Vodka intoxication level pls :)
Would there be a way to factor in movement maybe?
For example you have two values, your average height difference of the last 1-2 seconds, and your average turn angle within the last 1-2 seconds.
So if you run up or down slopes, jump from rocks etc. the Z-coordinate (?) of your character changes quite substantially, so maybe there could be a (capped!) factor for rapid and large changes which increases fall chance.
Same with turning. If you turn a lot while sprinting, your character orientation changes, and if the average becomes a bit high your chance to stumble does so, too. I mean it's obvious that you are more likely to fall if you run a slalom and shift your center of mass constantly, than when running in a straight line.
Probably doable, but it's too complicated to implement.
Sorry, but this mod really needs some revisions. It clearly annoying that your character even stumbles on max health with sunny weather and almost no inventory space every 10 yards. Nice idea anyway but no.
you can lower the numbers by opening the script. Lowering the numbers reduces the chance of stumbling, but through the process of randomization between 0 to 100 you will still stumble
unfortunately even after settings EVERYTHING to 5 i still stumble too often idk what i've done wrong... can i change it to 2 or something?
yeah you can change it to 0, but you will still stumble
Exactly, but you can easily edit those values very very simple just go to the script use notepad and reduce the value however you want.
Possible to make a mod that slightly increases and decreases speed dependent on incline?
possible but i don't know how, the closest mod i know of is the Advance Stamina System. It is where the deduction of stamina increases when you climb or walk up a slope
И все же шанс слишком высок, сократили бы вдвое. А то падаю часто :(
I made it fair after adding Health Amount Trigger
Спасибо, это действительно справедливо. У меня вопрос по поводу перевода MCM, конкретно Debag mode. Там написано следующее: "Enable when using Debug Mode". Значит ли это, что мне нужно сперва активировать Debug Mode в лаунчере самой игры?
Итак, это не работает с BHS. Я установил триггер 50% здоровья, но мой персонаж продолжает спотыкаться при 100% здоровья :(
it depends on the weather, and if you're overweight
