Cut map from the mod Riptide which I've now made public to provide an example in how not to design a map.
This is a cut map from my first HL2 mod Riptide. The map was was planned to be included at a later point in the mod very early in development. It's not a good map but can definitly show some of the flaws in my old mapping skills to aspiring mappers. The main takeaway is do not attempt replicating a map like this. Instead learn how to execute design properly in a more controlled environment where you can make mistakes and try again.
The mod is back in development for those curious and I'm currently doing another round of pre-planning on the mod. This process will hopefully improve the quality of the mod and it's maps even further!
