While an improvement over the original (not difficult) this is still VERY rough around the edges. Invisible walls and a number of tunnels that end with a plain black wall. Geometry throughout is still pretty basic. Even the train tunnels are blocky with impossible 90 degree turns in the tracks.
Additionally, there is no real challenge to a lot of this map pack. Lots of vent crawling which almost always sees you emerging above a horde of zombies that cannot reach you. In fact for all the zombies in this mod, playing in hard, not a single one hit me. You're either out of their reach or given plenty of room to get away from them and ammo to take them down is plentiful.
In fact, no enemy in this pack is used effectively. The grunts pose a challenge purely because of their numbers, but the arenas in which they appear are again wide open spaces with a little cover here and there. They are never above or below you and never have the opportunity to surprise you.
Compare it to the combat in We've Got Hostiles in Half-Life where the spaces are much tighter and each area has one or two floors above you. The grunts usually start with superior positioning over the player, requiring you to run and gun and dodge grenades that suddenly land at your feet. There's none of that here.
Some zombies cannot be interacted with and cannot interact with anything. They walked through walls and the barney that was following me got stuck in a loop trying to shoot them.
Overall I'd say the map was pretty boring as it seems the design strategy was just to put a bunch of enemies in and hope for the best. The outcome of this is boring sections where I'm just shooting down the same angle waiting for the enemies to stop coming. The last section in particular with all the grunts was especially annoying as I just stood at the turret waiting for them to all come (there was so many this was the only viable option).
The outdoor maps were very barren, with almost no details other than some opaque windows. Felt like it could have benefited from extra time spent working on it.
