A bunch of modular helmets from Escape from Tarkov!
MODULAR HELMETS
There are 9 new helmets from Tarkov now. Every helmet is modular with at least one component. You can find the helmets at the flea market at night. They are not always available! Some are pretty rare. The trader also can sell you the upgrade parts. Or you can find them on corpses.

I will not provide any compatibility patches. Simply because thats more work than the mod itself. But everyone should feel free to create some.
What about modular armors? I'm on it, but this will take a little time. And this mod here has just started, so please be patient.

Idk if its me but are the attachments supposed to be cosmetic only? Because none of them seem to change the strength of the helmets armor.

I wonder if you could use this system to make night vision devices attach directly to the helmet, rather than occupy their usual inventory slot?
I've been trying to theorycraft a mod like this for a while, as it would free-up the NOD/torch slot for a separate gasmask, which would mean you could have distinct helmets and masks with different combinations, which would give awesome customisation options.
There are a lot of masks in Anom that are literally worthless because they offer no combat protection. But if you could wear a GP-5 as well as an airframe it would be a lot more attractive.

how install helmet attachments wont let me
You need to have the helmet and correct attachment in your inventory. Then drag and drop the attachment onto the correct helmet. As long as the mod is in the correct load order it will work. If not, it will not work.
A sugestion:
Add ability to attach gasmasks to helmets.
