Here is the Classic Pack V2.666 as I promised. I made the Pistol. Stiegi made the Shotgun. Zaero made the Classic Plasma Gun, Chaingun, Super Shotgun, BFG9000, and Rocket Launcher. I edited the sounds, the Rifle SoundFX is a custom Pulse Rifle sound that I created by combining all the Aliens Pulse Rifle Sound effect. Anyway everybody, I hope you enjoy this! RIP AND TEAR!!!!!

Only thing I wish I could do is add red iron sights and add in ironsights (I've seen Beretta Ironsights before somewhere around on the Internet). :P

Hello, just one question...

Could you make this addon for being able to use both slot-2 weapons, I mean, the standard rifle and the pistol, instead of replacing completely the rifle?

If answer is positive, you would sure make my day... :)

Yeah, I have an idea for a mod.

It would be more of a collaboration mod from the entire Doom community but damn it, it would be worth it.

Imagine a mod called Redemption Denied and it's basically a Doom 64/PSX Doom style megawad that would be 32 levels long...

*dreams about it*

It'd be awesome!

By the way, what ever happened with the Red Chainsaw/Evil Deadish weapons and the SMG Pistol?! XD

Aww hell, i could help you do some more common coding things with making a little place holder actor to a brand new monster. I actually enjoy teaching people how to do things like this so you can pm me if there is anything you'd like to learn how to do. At some point you may want to fix something. And you could always look at the ZDoom wiki, or just try reverse engineering things you don't know how to do, that's how I've learned (but knowledge won't buy you skill unless you practice).

Plus I've been a little apathetic about editing lately, so I'm ready to teach others how to edit for a while, at least til I get my interest back.

Go to the "KEYCONF" file. You'll see the line;

SetSlot 1 Rifle

Replace it with this one

SetSlot 1 Rifle Your Pistol Actor Here

Done!

Now in my forthcoming version of BDEE (the v19d), you'll be able to use the BD-Pistol and the Rifle, among some other changes, it's going to be the coolest of all EE releases! (I hope...)

V1.5 has been released! Now if you press 2 twice you still have your rifle!

Only thing is, Zombiemen drop clips not Rifles.

If you want me to make it so they drop Rifles again, just let me know!!

They look similar to the ones from Zaero's Classic Weapons Mod for Brutal Doom. You might want to ask him, and oh crap, that reminded me to ask him if I could use sprites from his mod.

Speaking of which, AIE MUST SEEZ DA CLASSIK SHOTGAN IN UR MOD QUAKER!!! AND DA KLASSIK SSG!! Don't worry, I haz sprites.

I actually took them from your Derp Edition wad and tweaked the Deagle so it's left-handed ala Classic Doom pistol and voila! i have Classic Doom pistol.

Hence why I include you in credits. :3

There's a ****-ton of sprites?! The classic SSG Sprites can be found in something like Brutal Doom v14 and for the wooden handel, I just found it here:

HINT: It's also featured in my mod. Open SLADE3, and find a WAD called ClassicSSG.wad or something like that. Double Click on it, and voila! All of the Classic SSG Sprites are in there. All you need to do now is copy the image lumps, and rename them by replacing the C in all of the sprite names with S. Like EX:

CHT5A0 to SHT5A0

Wait, Doomguy981?! Oh yay! The sprites remind me from a mod for Brutal Doom called Classic Weapons for Brutal Doom. The mod was created by Zaero. I haven't downloaded it yet, but I will check it out when I get back to my supercomputer of lolz.

How does one use this Pistol add-on mod without replacing the Rifle? I would certainly love it if I could use both of these amazing weapons without sacrificing the other.

It's easy. Make KEYCONF file, and add this:

addslotdefault 2 "Your Pistol Actor"

Kinda better than the way Quaker did it, but this method will be featured in the arsenal for Quaker's mod.

-Replace everything in the text for KEYCONF with this:

I could always upload my new file and make it so basically you have to type in give rifle at the command prompt as soon as start a new game.

Anyway this has enhanced my Doom experience exponentially.

I hope you and I both enjoy playing through Doom and ripping and tearing.

You don't have to make it so that you have to open console and type in "GIVE RIFLE". Look at the comment that I recently posted, for more information.

Here's something even more helpful. In the DECORATE Lump, where it says ACTOR Doomer2, in those parameters, put in

player.startitem "Rifle"

And if you want to start out with a full Mag, then put in:

player.startitem "RifleAmmo", 30

There's also another actor defined called Zombie_ManDropsClip. In the parameters, or just after where it says:

dropitem "Clip"

Make a new line, and add this if you want the Zombiemen to drop a rifle:

dropitem "Rifle"

Easy peezy.

This is possibly my fault, but, I'd like to report a small glitch/bug/inconvenience.

When using this mod in conjunction with the WW Doomguy Visor HUD, the total ammo (not in clip) does not subtract. This only happens when the ammo reaches 99. (It may be my fault because I have, thanks to another user, enabled use of the Rifle as well).

This will be posted in the HUD's thread as well.

LOL Thank you sir! I just look at the ZDoom Forums pretty often. There's even an HUD where you can scan the name of the ENEMY and detect it's health. Try this on out. Make sure you read everything in the first post. There's information about the keys showing up on the HUD. Anyways, here it is:

In case someone is interested: here's the classic shotgun, I created that some months ago by mixing the vanilla sprites with the gloves of the bd shotgun. So here doomguy has fingernails, which you dont have in other classic shotgun sprites Dropbox.com

I really love your shotgun mod. I have a question though, is it OK if we collaborate and release a classic weapons mod of sorts? Classic Shotgun + Classic Pistol?

With your permission of course.

Also, I updated the mod so that if you press 2 twice then you also have a rifle.

I wish I knew how to code it so that the RIFLE has a different sound effect than the Pistol.

If I did then I would give the RIFLE the famous Pulse Rifle sound effect from the Aliens movie (with credits of course!) and I'd make the ammo counter say 95 at the bottom.

Stay frosty would be the message I would code when you pick up the rifle.

Though I'm not sure if people would like that.

Anyway man, I hope you like my mod and I really love your mod!

I agree, it looks pretty damn small, esp. compared to the Brutal Shotgun, but that's the original sprite size. I couldn't manage to create bigger version that looks good, but maybe you have more luck and talent. Just open the pk3 with Slade, export the pngs with the shotgun, work it over in Gimp or Photoshop, then import it back in via Slade and make sure that all the offsets are set right, it's actually not a big deal

Hmm... The original sprite size was a bit bigger. I mean if you play without the Doomguy face at the bottom... you will see that it is a lot bigger than it appears.
