I would say barely under 15 but only barely. First project had been me rebuilding our school as a Quake 1 map. Teachers didn't find it that funny though in the first place :D
Yeah, similar story here, got into some hot water for working with some friends to build a map of the school for CS 1.6...it had good intentions, it was a hostage rescue map. :P
Same thing here! It seems like re-creating your school in a violent FPS game is a common occurrence among mappers, lol!
I built my school in the Serious Sam First Encounter editor. I pretty much built all the classrooms and swapped the teachers to monsters, then I played it sliptscreen co-op with my friends. Good times!
I wish I still had all the maps I made back then but that computer is now long gone.
Same here, as I only -really- started around age 14 or so -- although my first projects are the Battlefront 2 maps on my profile. I sadly only got to make two working maps. The compiler broke on me and I was left with nothing but maps that looked great and were ready to go, yet for some inexplicable reason wouldn't play. A pity, although it did spur my interest further.
I've start modding games 13... Trying to create map in Counter-Strike... But failed... Create a MUGEN game since i was 14... My UMK3 MUGEN is the only one that get some attention... and now I'm already 15.... I was creating Doom maps... :D
14 for me, the same year I got my first computer. It was an old crappy business laptop that my Dad didn't need anymore, but it could barely run Jedi Academy, so... I spent many many hours modding that after discovering what a "mod" was XD
At around late 15 or early 16 I practically stopped modding though, sadly. I've been trying to get back into it lately.
My first modding proyect waa creating maps for Jetpack (a good and old DOS game).
Long time after, i tranlate the videogame Civilization 2 from English to Spanish language reading each sentence of each .txt file and using a dictionary. I dont have Internet back them. ;)
When the translation was finished, i create some maps and even new units with his editors.
Finally i meet Half life 1 (2005) and his map editor from Cd-Rom: Worldcraft 2.0....Now, i make maps, models, some coding, etc.
Great hobbie.
15 years old (about a few months ago actually) and I completely turned the Byzantine Empire from Europa Universalis III into the Targaryen Empire loosely based off of the Song of Ice and Fire novels. Nothing too big though I guess.
I attempted years ago (I guess making a skin for GTA 3 is kinda modding) so in that case I was about 12 or so. But when I half knew a little bit more then I did then, I was about 19-20-21...Max Payne 2 Mod xD
Well when I was about 12 I started work with the Valve Hammer Editor and never did complete a lot. Funny how I still work with Source SDK and the Hammer editor today when I'm bored.
I also have barely any experience with Game Maker and I have made some Doom maps, as well as some Skyrim mods and even a spell mod that I have published on the Steam Workshop. I think I made like 4 Civ 5 maps but those are easy to make.
I made a map on the lesson. I put there my teacher's picture, and made it breakable :p (+ wound decals). When my mates saw this, everyone in class became testers immediately :D
I'm not an actual modder like most people here, but I did some minor modding to C&C Generals some years ago. I was experimenting with TibEd tool, simple INI editing. It turned out to be one weird mod.
I started modding about the age of 14 (plus or minus a year) since that's about when I returned back to a pc after a few years of using a ps3. I played KotOR and couldn't resist modding it. I downloaded mods but I also messed around with the kotor tool. My computer sucked so much back then...
Although my first 'mod' was a tweak I made to the tutorial messages in Left 4 Dead (Although I got the idea from another mod that was much better), which I did when I was 12.

(buried)
**** you live
You wouldn't mind releasing the rmf would you?
mine was similar... just a map of a part of my town in Empire at war
My first modding was barely under 15, came across some editors for Wolf3d and I was playing around with them to figure out how to do what.
Made some cool map sets which I regret never backing up...

I remember when I tried my hand at modding at a naive young age as well, but there was a minor dispute and have lived within said mod ever since.
I was really young. Think i was 13 or 14
My first map was a CS 1.6 map i made with the age of 11. :D
12, started modeling.

At the age of 14.
At the 12 :)
ditto, i started with modeling... 1 year later still am =P

I would definitely say around the age 15 or 16 for me. My first game Star Wars: Empire at War. :)
Yup Stargate modding on Empire at War for me, same age too
I think 14.Lol o create a lot of maps for Cs2D
15 I starting tweaking things to now where the games are almost unrecognizable lol
12 created bunch of maps and servers for the public.
14 for me, the same year I got my first computer. It was an old crappy business laptop that my Dad didn't need anymore, but it could barely run Jedi Academy, so... I spent many many hours modding that after discovering what a "mod" was XD

I think I started modding when I was 11. heh.
I made a crazy mod map for Yuri's Revenge back when I was 11.
It's funny cause I'm pretty sure it was more well balanced than the normal game though.
Yuri's Revenge didn't exist yet 26 years ago.. But I guess your profile is lying about your age then.
I was 8 or so when I started with UT modding. Those were the good ol' days, man...
Personally, I was 15.
14, started with Starcraft 1 :D.
I've been modding since I was 8, I started with C&C:TS. And have come to mod every game I've ever come across...
15 years old (about a few months ago actually) and I completely turned the Byzantine Empire from Europa Universalis III into the Targaryen Empire loosely based off of the Song of Ice and Fire novels. Nothing too big though I guess.
I started then I was 12 and started doing this on BF2. After 4 years, I have 6 mods in progress. One is 97% rated and other have 40k downloads :D
Modding till you're young and you will do a lot !
I attempted years ago (I guess making a skin for GTA 3 is kinda modding) so in that case I was about 12 or so. But when I half knew a little bit more then I did then, I was about 19-20-21...Max Payne 2 Mod xD
Red Alert 2. I changed up that rules.ini file quite a bit. That counts right?
12 :D
15.
Although I had trouble mapping Half-Life 1 at the time, I am now able to use Source easily.
#NotTellingMyCurrentAgeLol
Started to create maps when I was like 11 or 12, started to make real games and make mods for games when I was 14.
Well when I was about 12 I started work with the Valve Hammer Editor and never did complete a lot. Funny how I still work with Source SDK and the Hammer editor today when I'm bored.

Source SDK, hammer, game maker, yesss
I made a map on the lesson. I put there my teacher's picture, and made it breakable :p (+ wound decals). When my mates saw this, everyone in class became testers immediately :D
I started at the age of 10, modding Populous the beginning and Age of Empires.
I'm not an actual modder like most people here, but I did some minor modding to C&C Generals some years ago. I was experimenting with TibEd tool, simple INI editing. It turned out to be one weird mod.
I'd say around 12-13 maybe. I done alot of level design and stuff for a few mod teams and then started my own mod(s) around 15.
I started around age 13 :D

The internet has failed me. I accidentally double posted. Please delete if possible.
I was 13 when i made my first mod. It was for C&C Tiberian Sun
About 13 - 14.
