We're excited to announce today ZPS v2.1 was published on Desura which has come a long way since beta.

It is with great pleasure and honor to not only be hosted on Steam but now as well Desura! We would like to thank the guys behind ModDB & IndieDB for providing another means of getting our hard work out there to the public. Desura is a treat to use and installation is quick and painless. We've added links to our front page (on the top left under -INSTALL ZPS-) so players can quickly and easily install ZPS at their convenience. This couldn't have come at a better time with ZPS v2.1 having just released so give it a go and install ZPS then join us in-game.

Just a question (I love Desura AND this mod): Desura and Steam provide Autoupdates. Will this cause problems in the future if I install it through steam and Desura detect, that I already own this? Or: Waht does Steam do if it seas "Hay, this guy ownes this mod" but you have downloaded it through Desura?
Just to make it clear: I use Desura and this is no critic about your step. I only want to know if there are known issues, or if you already have tested this different situation. I think me and other gamers do not want to get a bad surprise with your next update just because we use Desura.

Steam installs in a separate directory than Desura which installs directly to the Sourcemods folder. Both versions will work fine. If you have both versions installed you will see 2 "Zombie Panic: Source" listings in Steam. I'm a big fan of Desura and is just another great way to introduce future fans to ZPS.

Hell, yeah, Desura!
I am not a Half-Life 2 player anymore, but I might install it for some ZP:S and Opposing Force remakes <3

Well I think they will be able to push updates out easier than they can with Steam.

We did this to both support Desura and for those who prefer it. We will continue to update both Steam and Desura with future patches, it's up to you which to use. I think Desura is a great application and appreciate it's goals and honestly don't see the harm.

Desura Panic won't show any images in the background of the steam window, am I right? In terms of integrity, this was a good step, but in fact it is useless. Beyond that, I am wondering why your desura-page has a video and new screens while your steam-page still features old images in 4:3.

I answered your first question above and disagree that it's useless as for our steam page unlike Desura we don't have direct access and must bother employees to change things there and have in fact brought it up twice before. They are busy people and it's understandable.

Just wanted to ask: How can it be, that you are part of the teams behind two of my favourite Source Mods? (nt° + ZPS)

Oh and of course: Dont stop, keep up the good work (You and your team of course), my Desura is all set up for a future nt° Update, oh and dont forget, that nt° was the reason i bought HL2

ZP:HL was created by Twilight and Rhone and I had the opportunity to work with for a time and inspired me to take on ZP:S due to my love of their original work. Neotokyo was originally developed on UT2k4 by a very talented group of developers and based on a fictional future of Japan (where I currently live) and the artwork behind Akira and Ghost in the Shell. In both cases it was the developers and the game that lured me in. So in short, because I'm a huge fan of both myself. Appreciate the support and we're keeping at it. Don't forget to check out Contagion-game.com as well, the spiritual successor of ZPS.
