I believe the proper term is pulverized, yes, that's it. That's what happens to friends and foes who get in the way of the new Engy Destroy Gun. Unlike most weapons in the game, the new Engy Destroy Gun works on enemies AND teammates. Better yet, for players that just won't die from a single shot, the new Engy Destroy Gun is capable of pushing players away with great force. But beware, charge the Engy Destroy Gun at full capacity for too long, and it might just discharge on you, sending you flying across the map into places unknown.
In all seriousness, I've been writing a lot of code these days. Darkness 1.6 is shaping up to be the most polished release so far:
- Implemented corpse infestation properly
- Detectors make spiders glow
- Damage system balanced and refactored so that future changes will be easy
- New museum map is in the works, improvements to spacewreck and geofusion maps
- Spider eggs will be more plentiful, cheaper, but weaker
- New Engy Destroy Gun :)
- Some important GUI improvements
- Bug vision material is bright red now
- Important reliability bug fixes
- Damage testing/mirroring bots functional (development only)
I've got several new play testers to help out now and I've still got hope that new player models will be coming soon. With any luck, I'll have 1.6 done in the next few weeks!
Sounds like a great idea! I'm sure it would be fun to thrust players' bodies across the map. The only issue we might find with that is when an Engy picks up the Destroy Gun and decides to go around trolling other teammates too. If the weapon will practically be OP, I think that it should atleast be rare though. That or be given after a certain amount of kills, possibly?
After I release 1.6, I'll start looking at some anti-trolling measures.
To answer your questions: Currently, all weapons are given at spawn and can't be dropped. The Engy Destroy Gun is the least dangerous of all team-damaging weapons: Grenades, RPG rounds, and C4 are far more devastating in the wrong hands.
