I know that Paradox hasn't been updated very much in the past week, but we've been very busy. Busy working on the mod, that is. Fortunately everyone on the team is speaking the same language and have been getting together some of our best talent for unit voices. Last weekend we recorded several HOURS worth of voices (150+ lines total). Rather than just post the voices online, we've taken the liberty to try them out in-game, using Warcraft 3.

The sparrow sounds rather immature and annoying with that high pitch, like there's a 11 year old girl at the controls. Can you get your actress to sound a bit more mature? Assuming that was a feminine voice.

Actually I increased the pitch of our actress' voice, the immature-ness being intentional. I'll maybe tone it down a bit to make her a bit more bearable.

they still nee some more work and to be cleaned up and as the above person said the first one is a bit anoying to hihg pitch
Actually, the original recordings are pretty clear (see destroyer for example), however YouTube has terrible audio quality and messes with the filters.

i like it- obv got a good recording studio! Are you intending to add some effects to teh voices? if you play RA3 for example, they sound..hard to explain, but its as if the "edge" has been taken off.. almost like it was slightly distorted to sound like it was played through a comms system?
and just so yal know- we MUST have regionalised accents for the other armies =D
Oh yeah, we're definitely trying out effects, in fact the Sparrow and the Piledriver have their effects already. The infantry will remain "clean", however.

Good job with the Isospinner voice! I like the destroyer's voice but his lines are questionable. like "I'm on a gosh darn boat" I mean who says that also the female voice overs are kinda immature sounding (and Im not just talking about the sparrow) I'm also refering to the PAWI.
The destroyer's lines are all from the Lonely Island song "I'm On A Boat", with a little bit of language clean up for comedic/censorship purposes.
Rather than "I'm on a gosh darn boat" the real line is "I'm on a motherf****** boat," which would obviously have caused some problems! XD
To me it sounds a lot like you used the same girl/woman for the units and just distorted her voice. I like the riot agents voice overs but the distortions are obvious but that is about it the other two or three female voices I do not like TBH.
Yes, we did re-use voices, but anyone could figure that out by reading the video descritpions. Also, I don't really understand why you think the distortions are bad; they are *intentionally* obvious. In your opinion, what could I do to rectify the problem?
It wasnt an accusation I just get tired of hearing the same person over and over again its just that simple, and the riot agent sounds good. I mention the distortion because it just sounds...not good but If there is a complication in clearing that up then don't worry about it
nah I take back what I said about female voices they sound dif today for some reason maybe I'm losing my sanity but the voices seem fine now???IDK what is up with that....But good job witht he voice overs!!
Hehh, sorry for being a little defensive... It's just that when I've worked for days on something that I know I really can't do twice, it's hard for me not to get completely attached. The good news is that if you really had lost your sanity, at least it's back now. :D
