The Zerg Drone as its model progressed for Warcraft vs Starcraft
Development Tidbit:
To get a bit of shine on the wings of the Drone, we layered an additive-blended texture above the wings, and as the wings of the Drone moved we animated the texture's opacity by hand to create a simulation of sorts of specular mapping. Though this is no substitute for the real thing, at the very least makes the Drones look more interesting as they move across the map.
At first getting the keyframing to work with this was a bit tricky, but after a while you get the hang of it.

Am i missing the part where it says this mod will only be making Zerg? I'm not complaining but I wanted to know if you guys are only trying to do Zerg right now...
For lack of time and manpower ( I need to make that into an acronym... "FLOTAMP"? ), I had decided way back when to focus strictly on one race to make sure it was done right, and I picked the Zerg simply because I figured they would be the most challenging.
If there's sufficient interest after the release, we'd love to provide over documentation on how we built WCvsSC, and how more could be added to it. Good practice for somebody, I can tell you that we've learned a lot!
