As promised, I present you with another update. The staff has been working on a number of things lately including balance and AI. We have made great progress with the Russian AI and we should have it finished soon.
In this update, you could see a render of our last infantry unit for Russia, the VDV soldier. It was modeled and textured by ScreamingCricket. The VDV is part of Russia's airborne assault division. They're an independent and different branch of the Russian military, equal to that of the Russian Army or the Russian Air Force. A fine example of their abilities, were shown during the Chechen War. There were times where around 30 VDV soldiers could withstand attacks by some hundreds of Chechen rebels. In game, the VDV are very well trained and as a result, they're much stronger and faster than the standard Conscript. In addition, the VDV are armed with RPK-74's which makes them very deadly. VDV soldiers are not buildable in-game, however they're available through the VDV Paradrop.
Unlike western airborne units, the VDV are mechanized with many armored fighting vehicles, including BMDs and BMPs. Below, is a render, along with a few in-game screenshots, with one showing our radius cursor for the VDV Paradrop.
