Need help setting up UA? Check the instructions below!

What you need to play UA The Hunt Begins:

1. Dawn of War - Soulstorm installed. Any version (Steam or disk) works.
2. Ultimate Apocalypse v1.8, aka "The Hunt Begins" installer. Download from the download buttons above or:
Moddb.com OR Mediafire.com OR Drive.google.com OR Mega.nz OR .torrent file
3. Ultimate Apocalypse v1.81.29 patch installer. Download from the download buttons above or:
Gamefront.com OR Mediafire.com OR Drive.google.com OR Mega.nz
4. Install them, the patch after the main installer
5. Launch Soulstorm, click the Game Manager on the Main Menu and select: "UA: The Hunt Begins"

What you need to play THB New Factions:

1. Dawn of War - Soulstorm with UA The Hunt Begins installed
2. Inquisition: Daemonhunt mod installer. Download from:
Gamefront.com OR Drive.google.com OR Mega.nz
3. Chaos Daemons mod installer. Download from:
Gamefront.com OR Mediafire.com OR Drive.google.com OR Mega.nz
4. Tyranid mod installer. Download from:

5. Install all three Inquisition: Daemonhunt, Tyranid, and Chaos Daemons mods
6. Launch Soulstorm, click the Game Manager on the Main Menu and select: "UA: THB - New Factions"

Greetings everyone, I am Cylarne, the creator of UA mod if you did not know already, and I am just here from my returning business to notify you guys: THANK YOU FOR YOUR FEEDBACK!

My biggest apologies not being here on the day of a big release as real life sucked me out of the loop again, but I'm able to check the updates every week, Saturday-Sunday if I have internet capability. Youtube videos will be uploaded every Tuesday on my chennel at 12 pm.

Thanks to the UA mod team for making a SUCCESSFUL release!

Bugs will be noted on our todo lists, replying to you guys after it will be very time consuming, so we apologize for that, but we will get to as many as we can. This will be going on for the next 6 months to 2 years unfortunately, but I at least am eager to get on when I can. If I don't reply immediately or within the next 2 weeks, it means I am overloaded with PMs or the internet over here is dead, will need a month to recharge the data limit.

Yay! Any plans for new units or new skins? I think the inquisitorial stormtroopers should be spiffied up some

Also, may I suggest making the IG Conscripts look completely different from regular Gaurdsmen? Maybe remove their armor and helmets, and they just wear fatigues

and an inquisitiorial stormtrooper idea, maybe they could be split into several different units, since they make up the bulk of Inquisitorial armies, for me at least? Each one could fulfill a different combat role, and would be different models/skins based on different IG armies

IIRC, at least in some older books, the Inquisitorial Stormtroopers came from different armies, or could come from different armies

I think now everyone have to concentrate on balance because new stuff just brakes it and game becomes unfair with other players

Just more 1000 size maps, preferably with 2/3 chokepoints in the mid such as river passages and such :) But just as long as they are 1000 size its all good.

On the subject of maps, I guess this is as good a place as any to ask this question...

I love making maps - Or at least I did, back in DC days, but as Soulstorm has no map editor I kind of had to stop.

Is there a way to make maps for Soulstorm? Or than just making them for DC and then awkwardly moving them into the Soulstorm folder? Because I'd really like to make some maps with some UA specific units and structures already placed.

Hey guys, I'm having some troubles running my soulstorm file for some odd reason. When I go to my Library in steam and click the play button the game will not load. Any suggestions?

I only like to point out the unnecessary sheer number of members in the squads of tyranids that make a terrible spam and they reinforce quicker than you kill them if you might consider reducing them.

As for the rest i think THB is getting better and the IG soldiers don't lag that much nor spam that much anymore.

Can't wait for the next version.

Their overwhelming numbers tactic seems to be staying true to form, but is made doubly effective in DoW because of every other race's lack of a "Shoot the big ones" rule.

The AI will shoot whatever comes at it first, and will often prioritise the generally inoffensive gaunts and gants rather than the swarm of carnifexes that are actually dealing damage.

Tying everything up in close combat with unkillable hordes of little blighters seems to be the best tactic, as it leaves you free to bring out the Uberfex and level everything with that overpowered artillery cannon thing it has; doesn't help that the Uberfex is nigh invincible to any standard firepower.

The Tyrant Guard are used to the same effect, as they just run through everything and draw everyone's attention in the process, taking barely any damage.

Fortunately, though the Tyranids are basically overpowered (They tend to beat every other race when the AI plays.) they only really have that one tactic, and with enough artillery on the chokepoint and enough heavy weapons behind it, the Tyranids can't get through - Not that this matters because they eventually get to spam meteors on you and the game basically ends unless you've got something with global range that is incredibly powerful (Basilisk Magnus/Gauss Pylon with research)

also, within the Imperial Army, will there be the Deathkorps of Kriegs ? (not as cavalry)

adeptus mechanicum needs to be a thing same for deathkorp. but idk know much about the lost and the damned.
What also needs to come in is the legion of the damned, dark angels, blood angels, and commander farsight.

I'd also like to point out another thing that i noticed.

The Daemonhunters AI players pump a lot of workers inside the civilian production buildings and until these buildings get wiped out they lag the game once they get filled.
The Daemonhunters AI always rise their civilian production buildings to skyscraper level.

Also please don't forget to address the non-animated tank treads of the Thunderfire Cannons.

PS : I'd sure love to see the Steel Legion fully incorporated in the UA too.

i really like this mod its a lot of fun. i noticed pre the hunt begins there was an addon that gave the tyranids much better appearance is this addon still compatable or do we need to wait for an update?

I've noticed a strange behavior in THB new factions what i've have set 1.8.553. Basicly when having Win button set on and fighting aganist T'au, their soldiers or tanks cannot be destroyed normal way, only superweapons does work. Last time i had T'au as enemy and once when tried T'au win button, scout unit just walking enemy army without taking a scratch. Basicly seems to be glitch or somthing that cannot be killed if win button is on.
