Post news RSS The Ballad Singer Videogame

I'm delighted to present our new project, a graphic/RPG adventure inspired by the "game books"! We are working on this project for a long time and we have just created the website, in mid-November we will be on Kickstarter!

I want you spoke of our project quickly explaining some mechanical and showing you the pictures of the game :)

What kind of game is it?

The Ballad Singer is a mix of a game book, a graphic experience and a GDR videogame. An unprecedented format combines a fantasy novel and masterpiece drawings without restricting the player’s freedom to choose!

How to go along the game story?

The gaming system is based on your selections – the story plot and the relevant illustrations depend on them. Narrative branches take shape step by step to offer players a brand new experience, new even to the most experienced in role playing.

How does the game ecosystem work?

Through his/her selections, each adventurer can affect decision-making paths at other characters’ disposal. That is to say, the consequences of your actions are definitive and affect both your character and others’ choices. The actions you made with previous characters influence the chance for any other character to access different story endings!

Are the main story and the secondary ones divided?

No, they aren’t. There isn’t a unique narrative path. All narrative branches have been assigned the same importance, i.e. each decision-making path is narrated and illustrated, even the most hidden and difficult to reach ones. Enjoy your shaping Hesperia heroes’ events – 1700 variable plots and 40 different endings are at your disposal! Each time you are sure you play a different story!

And what if a character dies?

When an adventurer is killed or comes to one of the game ends, it can no longer be used. Its death is final; each adventurer can live only once. The involved narrative path ends and the player can use another character. Available characters depend on the selections previously made. That is to say, death is not a defeat in The Ballad Singer – it’s a new start. You will have the chance to use another hero in a world affected by your previous character.

How many difficulty levels are there?

Just one. You rely upon characters’ backgrounds, logics and physics laws to move along the world of Hesperia. You won’t have any help!
