Time to tease
A lot of the followers of the mod have been wondering what we've been upto regarding the mod outside of the regular news articles and the screenshots.
We are pleased to showcase the first of a series of small teasers to wet your appetite for the up coming release.

Seriously, how is any other Titan going to match this? O.o
It's pretty intimidating to see jump into your planet and start roflraping your fleet.
each titan has strengths and weeakness dependent on the faction. the klingons for example prefer an honerable fight so their ships reflect that yet their super weapon is a weapon of last resort to wipe out overwhelming odds of ships.. the feds wil utilise the more peaceful aspect using their titan as a powerhous C&C ship with more epmphesis on supporting the surrounding fleet and ships.. the romulans are obvious from the vid.. and as for the borg.. well thats still to come ;) and yes they are getting a titan also! :)
i am intrigued now. what is the scimitars weakness?

lol that and its antimatter limit and its weakness to be detected by some ships :)
With a Betazoid at the helm who likes to crash ships named Enterprise. lol

Particle effects can be a workaround.
Um... wow.
Not only have you modelled and textured her beautifully, you managed to animate her as well. That is OUTSTANDING! And she can fire while cloaked! How is anyone going to be able to beat that!? Does the weapon work on ships and structures or just planets? I half expected to see the planet blow up but then I remembered Thalaron radiation only harms organic material; mobile NOVA cannon. =D
thaleron only works on planets (had to work out some balance gameplay wise)
Iv'e heard animations for sins is a pain but oh my god you guys did it PERFECTLY!! 100% worth it, that was beautiful.

Never was much a fan of Sin's, but I will get my old copy of the game out when this mod is released, looks great. :D

Very good but the firing animation needs to be changed as the ship fired from its wing tips.
no it doesnt need to be changed as we never saw on screen it fire.. we extrapolated what would happen since its a radiation weapon and concluded the best result was to emit the particles from the tips into a focused blast wave tha kills the population. this worked 1 as an ingame weapon based on the game mechanics and the probable way the weapon would fire based on the type of weapon it is.
Data did state where the weapon would fire. However, I am aware that this is your mod but you know someone would point this out. Bare in mind though that there's quite a few arguments for certain ships being added which don't appear in either actual armada game, but that's an argument for another time.
We're moving with the times :) Much like the ship list changed between armada one and two somewhat. Would you like the graphics to stay the same also?
Sure, why not. If we're going to make this a more personal issue of what you think I would like to see. Strange though. I thought this was a mod made by someone else other than me. I don't remember being added to the staff of this dev team. Perhaps I missed a memo or two. Besides. IIRC sins is something of an rts game.......oh yes. Now I do remember. It is. Oh and a final thought. Lets not get into a comment contest on content, shall we?

You are however part of the community. I value the thoughts of our community as do the rest of the Dev team. I was hoping you'd offer some advice as to anything you feel that breaks the spirit of the Armada series. Community input in part is what's made this mod continue in the direction it's been going. I've received a wealth of PM's and comments with regards to content since joining the team and I always welcome more.
My answer is as often often as not "No" but I'll always give reasons for our decisions (unless asked about JJ abrams content, in which case I simply foam at the mouth).
Sarcasm aside mapayne, I'm not looking for a contest in any way. I'm looking for a constructive contributor that deals with specific items and suggests ways that we can improve the mod. After all, who's going to be playing the Mod? You, and the rest of the community. The least we can do is get it right, right?
True but then you'll always have someone who's going to state something isn't canon to what's been stated. That aside with regards to the mod itself. Looking from my own stand point I can't see a great deal wrong with the mod, if anything. I mean its more a case of pushing the boundaries of the game to its breaking point. The thing what this game style is missing and would seriously benefit from is its own custom game engine. I know sins is exceptional in terms of playability but I've yet to see an ideal game engine which fits the game play style properly. Oh and whilst I may moan about something not being correct, that's just my opinion. Graphically there's nothing to fault with what's been shown so far.
There's an upcoming game called Excalibur that's got its own custom game engine that you might be interested in. It's by no means finished, but looks good and has great visuals. The Defiant looks stunning in their screenshots.
