Fabulous footage. And so close for release :)
Looking good.
I don't want the demo ._.
Btw, nice video, only problem is the music.
Looking brilliant as always! Looking forward to this demo release! :)
That was one of the best mod trailers I have ever seen.
Very nice new, The Demo is awesome. I can't wait for the full release :)
This is going to rock!
Why would a mod need a demo? It seems really pretentious and arrogant to me. When the mod is finished, release it. Don't release an incomplete version of the mod before it's ready.
I'm not really sure why everyone seems so excited.
<- ignore me ( replied to wrong post ) ->
Because 'Black Mesa' is not released and 'Wilson Chronicles' will the first mod release before 'Black Mesa' (in Demo version, with 2 levels).
Community of the Source Engine is small now.. Waiting & Waiting => No people.
Modding is different than Indie games.. or you prefer the full release in 2012 if the mod will not die ?
Releasing a demo for the sake of releasing before another mod is a bad reason for releasing a demo. Demo's are released by publishers so that tentative buyers will have a chance to see how fun the game is to help persuade them to buy it. In the context of modding this is completely pointless and a waste of your efforts. If you wish to release the mod like this then by all means go episodic.
It is true that the source engine is starting to show it's age but fairly obvious recently that valve have noticed this decline and are actively working on improving their engine and hopefully the tools. Alien swarm is proof of this, it's clearly designed solely as a modding base.
I don't see why people try so hard to compete with black mesa. It's not a competition. Mod's need to know their limits and avoid feature creep. The mod I code for has experienced a bit of feature creep but it's mostly delayed because we just weren't satisfied with the quality of it. It's not particularly long (2 hours) but what little there is, we have polished to a mirror shine. Portal was very short but very well polished and that game is amazing.
So for wilsons chronicles, I don't mind if it is delayed but I'd much rather you take your time, don't rush out a release as if it's a race. Make the mod as good as you can. Just don't release a 15 minute demo that you'll look at in 2 years and think, "That's crap compared to the quality of the mod now".
gah, that awful music.
great maps though. awesome progress as usual. gj frere
I hate to say it but the particle effect usage on the weapons is probably the best implementation I have ever seen on the Source engine. Fantastic job.
Awesome! Im looking forward to it A LOT! :D
The trailer is actually awful, it moves way too much, can't see ****. The pictures are fantastic tho, can't wait for the release!
This really have shown that Source Engine, with its high modifiable code, is probably the best game engine ever!
Looks pretty dumb
Oh my GAD it's nice
I like the pictures and the video it's so nice :D
I want my Demo :)
Epic moment !
