Would it be illegal to port the Half Life 2 Episode 1 model to a Half Life 2 mod?

Yes but Half Life 2 Episode One is a seperate game. It isn't a expansion pack its like porting a Half Life 2 model into Half Life 1.
It IS possible to do that (porting Half-Life 2 Models into Half-Life 1). Back in Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, people have been doing it all of the time, and on a Zombie-Mod Server, all of the Zombies used the Half-Life 2 Zombie Model.
Considering you can play Half-Life 2 mods with Episode: One, I assume it's fine to use Ep1 content in a Half-Life 2 mod.
We ask Valve to use ministrider model for our mod. Still no response. I suppose we need to make a disclaimer to play this mod only if you have Half Life 2 Episode 1 or use it at your own risk. I will post news soon about this discussion, don't worry ;).

No, this is a HL2 DeathMatch Mod. If you have HL2 Deathmatch, (I think if you pay for HL2 Episode 1, you can get it), you will play this mod and the actual version (0.3.1).
you cant use the "use it at your own risk" excuse because your a distributing hl2 ep 1 content

I think you should just remodel it.
Valve said me no use it until episode 2 comes out. Pilotable Strider Mod 4 will come out when episode 2 come out.
Otherwise, we will release a previous version of the mod without ministrider.
Sort of suprised they let you use it at all.

TheQuartz, Episode 2 is scheduled for 2006 Christmas. I think you should release one or two versions before that... perhaps with the pilotable DOG? :P

Valve will let you do it. They always let people do this kind of stuff. It is selling the mod without Valve's permission that will be the problem, assuming you do try to sell it (not recommended).
