Here are now several years that Starcraft TC is under development. However when someone went in the image section of this site, this person found few images, and the majority are, in addition, to the images of not finished models, not textured or not "another thing".
Should any development for that be stopped because it is clear that in several years only little progress were made? I think that on the contrary, effort should be redoubled!
They are not five years to throw by the window, far from there. On the contrary, while the team gained in maturity, all our project also followed this movement to him. Thus the solo campaign, finally the campaigns, were packed, one could even say, entirely remade in order to put the player to deepest of the Starcraft universe. The characters were much deepened, and have, as the remainder of the development, gained them also in maturity.
We also learned how to control Serious Engine, but that was not without sorrow, and it is not finished yet. We passed from the engine of Half-Life to that of Serious Sam without calling into question our way of working. Large error. Several months of development were lost when the levels designer (and me the first) have to reconsider their way of making the levels, to optimize them.
I will not take again each part of the development (code, modeling, etc...) and will not try to find us excuses. The fact of being of the amateurs suffices for my opinion. Since the beginning we thus accumulate the "mistakes of youth", but it is clear that even if that slows down the development, that is embellished the game, not only of the point of view of the graphics, but also of the point of view of the gameplay.
Why the title of this news? What occurs in our group and our work is not really a rebirth, but at the same time that is one. We do not start again a beginning, far from there. But each model, each level will be reconsidered with our new technologies, and thus our new philosophy of development.
I think that you will like the first images available on our site (and on our moddb page).
