Today the name of my mod officially changes to "SIB: Special Intervention Brigade".
Nevertheless, the original target and features of the mod keep unchanged.
Due to the very limited time I can dedicate to it, development is going on slowly, also due to the huge work on modeling and tweak editing involved in this project. But now, some of the mod elements already took shape.. The classical bf2/xpack armies leave the scene. Security Forces and Criminal Forces come in.
Custom soldiers skins and custom kits models are already working ingame, giving a first taste of a really different combat scene.
Here below a brief list of already implemented features:
BOTS play better than vanilla one (and better than most mods I could test until now);
when firing, BOTS aim most of the time, making the game more realistic (hipfire almost disappeared!);
soldiers movements are slower than vanilla, making the game more tactical and less run & fire;
weapons are much more lethal then vanilla ones, so you are pushed to expose less to enemy fire and look for cover;
wreck time of killed bodies and vehicles increased;
blood effect added.
Having a first, decent version of Security Forces and Criminal Forces, further improvements to their models/skins can be postponed to a 2nd version of the mod. Next steps of the project will mainly focus on the finishing of already started works for enterable staticobjects. Once this important part will be implemented, the way for new, real CQB maps, will be open.
The custom gameplays indicated in the mod description will be implemented as fast as the first CQB maps will be ready. Some of them were already partially tested, so I trust I will get good results when the other elements will be done.
