Greetings everyone
I would like to take the time to let everyone in on the progress and evolution of the mod. Many of you are well aware about the current state of the mod. If not then be warned it is playable on some machines and not others. The mod has progressed thru the years from vanilla sins to entrenchment to diplomacy and now finally rebellion. Just a fyi to all that means the mod has been constantly added to over time . The last complete rebuild of the mod was the port from entrenchment. I personally did this , every single line of code file by file. With that being said we are throwing the mod out completely. We are rebuilding it from the code up. Everything is on the chopping block. This includes models , textures, abilities, fx, graphics, music , RACES, When I say everything i mean everything . The new SGI rebellion mod will be released in 2014. we will be releasing the mod to a select few beta testers early. Contact me for further instructions if your interested. Posers need not apply. Serious SGI fans only. The rebuild of the mod will not be easy however is necessary for a smooth seamless game play experience for everybody. We are really looking forward to this transition and will keep you posted.
Thanks

Thanks for the update it sounds a little worrying on the fact that if your rebuilding the mod from scratch then we will not see it for some time i have been playing it since diplomacy and i love it but on a plus if you rebuild it i belive it will ascend to a higher level of mod as i see it it has no rivals but over the years seeing what you can do i have no doubts that this will come back BIGGER and better well worth any wait
thanks for the update! been playing this since the original. cant wait to see what you guys do with it from a fresh build!
Might I make a suggestion if you're starting from scratch? Release a race or two at a time, get feedback as you progress while keeping your fans interested in your work. Going dark for months at a time is frustrating for you and your fans.
Personal suggestion: Release the humans then Goa'uld.
This is actually something that JT and I were discussing, and we feel that this is the path we are going to take.
Like Unikraken say. It is better to focus on one race at time and polish it then release it. Then you can work on next race. No need to rush through it. :) Also what unikraken say. Start with Tauri first. Next one is Goa'uld then maybe Ancient? Up to you.
I can understand your reasoning behind this, I did the same for my own mod as my models were vastly out of date, 5 years to be exact. However keep in mind if you plan on re-doing the majority of your models it's like starting all over again and can really slow down production.
If however it's mainly coding and just some of your earlier models, it's a good move and hopefully make things easier for the team as messy code can be a headache to work with. Best of luck.
Mainly just coding my friend
yup its going to be a proper port to rebellion. but we plan on making massive chances to everything. hehehe
:>

Sounds exciting, cant wait to see some of these changes, and I agree with what others have said , maybe just focus on 2 races to start ie humans and goauld, get the gameplay balance right then release or add other races as expansions. Similar to what star trek armada 3 team have done.
Massive fan of everything Stargate here, including the MOD Stargate Invasion ... I can't seem to get in contact with you. Must need to ask Carter to recalculate for stellar drift.

hey just a question but when you say rebuilding the hole mod does this mean your going to balance the mod to say the series sort of specs like wraith be medium damage but will have a horde sort of concept compared to the ancients being very powerful yet are low in number ?? i know this would be hard to pull off as it would be alot of work i understand but would be nice to see and a real challenge and it would show the sort of aspect of the stargate world most people would love to play (in my personal opinion) p.s. good luck with all the hard work and may i be lucky enough would love to try beta :)
problem with this is, we are not having the Ancients. They are the Asuran Replicators, so they could, in theory and in the show, build ships at a much faster rate. We are looking at making sure everyting in balanced though.
oh ok then i see :) and yeah would make it hard as the replicators pretty much nearly wiped out the hole pegasus galaxy soo if it went my way it would be abit like the borg of star trek mod would take like 3 or 4 people to destroy them
I'm glad you're sticking to canon, as it makes your selection of race much more strategic.
For example, the Asurans generally are strong in most catagories, while they would still have a hard time with the Asgard, and the late game Tau'ri.
The Goa'uld are seemingly only strong in early game, and mostly all die by the end. This gives the Goa'uld a huge advantage at first, before they are all killed by the more researched players. This, makes the Goa'uld really useful for early game rushes, which seems appropriate and matches the characteristics of the goa'uld.
yes with this rebuild we will be addressing balance gameplay and efficacy of all races
Sounds good guys, I think the most important suggestions have already been said so I'm just gonna say that i'm looking forward to it :)
still looking for team mates
\thanks jay

hey does this mean you will be doing buildings for each race and not having the bulk of them from vanilla

I came across a nagging issue where the planets seem to be too big for their associated space, and the build-able gravity-well areas are too small to actually build any orbital structures. This seems to happen to all non-asteroid, and non-moon type planets.
need help with that.
I do auto place structures it works fine but if your into setting up your defences the way you like then not the game for you.
You can turn auto place off.
this is a really good game btw Is there any updates?
Yeah, I say just do the Tauri and Goa'uld first. Then the Asgard and Replicators. Then the Wraith.
P.S Maybe get someone to make remixed SG-1 theme for the main menu :D
just started moding but have got this are you guys got a release date of the new mod ?
