Hey guys,
We're back for another update (that was quick wasn't it?). The moment you all have been waiting for is almost here. Rise of the Reds Beta 1.0 will be released sooner than you think ;) . The beta will not be released in about a month, or weeks, but days...Yes, you have read that correctly, days. We're working almost non-stop to give you what you all have been asking for. If everything goes well, it may be a red Christmas after all.
Until the moment we release the beta, we will showcase all the content yet to be seen by the public. This update, we present to you a new base defense structure, the Russian Component Tower. As its name suggests, it is built as a component, similar to the structure found in Tiberian Sun. Once you build the tower, you have a choice of three addons to upgrade it with. First you have the anti-tank turret, known as the RPG Tower. It fires powerful anti-tank grenades at enemy ground vehicles and inflicts considerable splash damage. Second, we have the Air Raid Tower. This addon has a more unique purpose than you'd expect. When built, the tower detects incoming enemy aircraft and "paints" them using their spotlights. What this does is increase the firepower and firing rate of Russian anti-air units/defenses near the Air Raid tower. Allowing them to shoot down enemy aircraft more effectively. The last addon will not be revealed until the second release, but it's not a conventional addon. I'll leave it at that. A similar version of this addon will be used in the Shockwave mod. Below are pieces of concept artwork and renders of the addons. The concept art was made by C0MR4DE. The Component Tower(s) were modeled and textured by The_Hunter.
