Hello, all! Happy holidays, too! I've got a little to say, and a lot to show. I've currently picked up more work on top of everything else but have managed to squeeze some time in here and there to hack away at the mapping for Redridge. I'm proud to say that; though the mod will be a short one (8 maps), I've nearly completed 5 of those maps. There's lots going on in Redridge to keep you busy, however. At this pace, we are looking at a possible Q4 2023 release date - but with the rest of the re-assembled Heath Games team members and satellites busy on other projects AND the Parasomnia 1.5 MEGA-UPDATE, I may need some extra hands to help with a few loose ends. (They are kind of a big deal, however. Big, nasty loose ends. Like your dad has. At night.)
The soundtrack is being provided by Arsenic Tea Party, and possibly "Ring Stretch Kings". I'm a little lazy with the sound this go-round, but I might get a wild hair up my a** and go on a marathon recording session to finish replace the stock Half-Life sound FX. So...with that being said, sound is pretty much covered, as is voice acting...which is a great segway for this next part:
Devin Miller of HRAFD and HRP fame has reprised his role as a mild-mannered gun-toting man in uniform! But it's not Barnaby this time.
Enter Officer Davis.
Officer Davis is a member of the Redridge county police. He was separated from the rest of his fellow officers when the bridge to Redridge was taken out as a direct result of the spooky and unexplained events that are currently unfolding in Redridge. Yes, the county and town bear the same name. Anywho, with telephone and radio communications suffering due to the strange phenomenon he has no way to contact the outside world, nor his fellow men and women in uniform to learn of their fates or get help. It is by chance that he meets the player at their cabin - after crashing through the fence. It is the start of a beautiful relationship! You will need to keep Officer Davis with you in order to progress through the game, so keep him alive! Luckily, he is way more robust than Barnaby was in HRAFD, and probably a lot more Canadian - but STILL very mortal.
You might want to keep yourself alive too, by eating and drinking the following:
Big nasty chicken! Throughout the game you will find big nasty chickens on plates. You must eat these to regain health. Some are probably less fresh than others, but you need to survive, so hold your nose!
Labatt Blue - Drinking these fortifies you against taking damage as stated in the previous article. Keep an eye out, they are very small, but the blue label will hopefully stand out! I guess if enough people complain, I'll make them bigger...
A less insane way to stay healthy is to use wall-mounted medkits. If I have to explain what to do with these, then please don't download this mod until you've played Half-Life and experienced

Okay, cool. You already know what the weapons consist of...well, mostly...Might throw a surprise in there for ya'll.

The protagonist was never really fond of Redridge...call it an angsty phase that never let up, fueled by existential dread, the isolation, the decayed state of the place and the nagging questions: "What am I going to do with my life? Will I die here? Do I care anymore?". Well, now he has a lot more reasons to dislike this tiny backwater in the middle of nowhere!
The town will likely never recover from the financial blow that only a supernatural happening like this could cause! Serious Sam's...uh...thriving Record shop will likely never re-open at this rate. Don't think insurance covers dimensional rifts, Sam.

Everything in Redridge is calculated to unsettle the player; and this spooky basement lighting is no exception.
The upper floor ain't much merrier...
The Teddymen make their return! Now THAT'S a teddy bear! This one has a cool problem with its' pelvis.
Mounted weaponry makes a special guest appearance in the form of a recoiless rifle! Okay, that's all, folks!
Join me next time when I lay down some serious commentary on the concept and inner-workings of Redridge's horror aspects and take a fine-toothed comb to the inwardness of the thing and my vision. And because all of you care to hear about that so much, I may even have a trailer ready by then - as well as a more in-depth look at the now-nameless protagonist player character!

So is this indicating Redridge takes place in the Half-Rats universe? :D
It does, but it's the real world, and not dreams like the other mods. It takes place long after the Half-Rats story. The previous two mods are not canon because they were HR's dreams while he was passed out.
I like the chicken diet! Looks much better, than that big hotdog in the basement (if you remember it).
Can't forget the hot dog! That thing actually exploded if you whacked it.
