NEW HALF-LIFE 2 MODIFICATION ALLOWS PLAYERS TO LIVE THE TOON LIFE
Karlstad, Sweden June 3, 2003:
Team Basil, a Sweden based game development group, is developing a new modification for the yet unreleased Half-Life 2 game, called Toon-Life. The modification allows players to fight on-line combatants as a cartoon, using classic cartoon weapons, tools, and abilities.
The modification is being created as an escape from the trend towards reality in the current choice of gaming options. Players will be able to escape from enemy players by dropping a portable bottomless hole behind them, zoom off on a rocket powered pogo stick, trick opponents with a super boomerang, or one of many other planned items currently being discussed for the modification.
Toon-Life is already in preproduction with examples of concept artwork and models on the website, Dark.se . In coming months, the team plans to release more information about the modification, including storyboards for animations and information about game play.
