So ive been promising everyone an update for a while now, but ive been so busy with the mod ive just not found the time to do so.
Firstly i will touch on some development thats been going on behind the scenes.
Having spoken to the previous developers of the Game of Thrones team, we have managed to secure quite a few assets from them plus all the code the previous lead developers had input into the module files. This means ive been able to incorporate quite a few extra features which i will list below.
A new quest line which features an Invasion.
This was created by Lumos and has been altered/extended by myself. I dont want to say too much about it because i dont want to give too much away, but it features a tiered quest plus an invading faction.
The Nights Watch.
Changes have been made to how the Nights Watch functions. Most of the code is from Lumos, of which again ive altered and expanded.
The Nights Watch will now have recruiters that wander the map recruiting soldiers to fill the ranks that protect the wall. You can either decide the aid them or hinder them, as usual the choice is yours. This in addition to the already added Wandering Crows in Westeros.
You can now join the Night Watch but doing so will render you without properties or titles. The only way for you to leave would be to desert, which of course means you will be banished to Essos with every faction in Westeros on your tail. So join with caution.
New map icons.
New map icons have been created by Thelonewolf1 and Oliver Qvist. This is ongoing though eventually every icon in Westeros and Essos will have unique icons. In addition to this, it has led to me making numerous changes to the campaign map.
Whomever owns Kings Landing will now aquire the Kings Guard. These are companions that will follow the king around and stay in his party. Of course if you loose King Landing, they will serve the new King as is their duty.
Many towns will now have Whore houses. You cannot meet whores in the traditional way of native by visiting a tavern. You must now visit the proper Whore house for these pleasures. You will notice familiar names and locations on your travels.
Many villages will now offer special recruitment types. For instance if you visit a village in the mountains to the north, you may be able to recruitment special Northern mountain clansmen.
You can now recruit special Sellsword Companies. These are a one time purchase which could cost around 75.000 for 100 men. :)
The leaders of said companies will join your party as companions. This will need to be expanded on in the future, meaning you wont just simply go see a guy in a tavern, you will be able to hire the companies that travel the map (scrap that, you can now recruit sellsword companies that travel the world map, or fight them if you prefer) and maybe give them orders etc.
Other changes to gameplay
You will also notice a huge amounts of other changes and enhancements to certain elements of play. A few examples.
All weapons can now break, unless of course you wield a Valyrian weapon.
As mentioned in the previous update, hundreds of new locations have been added making the world seem more alive and exciting.
New Sellsword parties have been added to the map.
Numerous sounds have been changed.
Menus art has been slightly changed to add a more polished experience.
Many new scenes have been added.
The starting scene has been changed.
Special Npc's that are given to lords can now be killed. There was quite a few bugs with the way they were implemented before, so ive changed a few things. These do need proper testing though.
A HUGE amount of bugs have been squashed, lending to a smoother gameplay experience.
Plus much much more.
I hope everyone can see why this next release is taking its time, a huge amount has been changed/added leading to a fuller experience. Apologies for the lack of pictures.
