New models have been found which i hope to add to the mod!

Hello all,
As some of you may have noticed, a BSG mod has been uploaded onto the steam workshop. The owner of this mod has spliced together some old mod files in his possession with a previous version of this mod to make the mod which is featured on steam.
I was investigating this mod to see if it was just a straight rip of mine which was being uncredited when I realised that it contains a wealth of models which had been lost during the NBC take down years ago as well as some ports from other game mods modified to work in EAW. This is of course extremely exciting as these models will allow me to fill gaps in the mod which have been extremely frustrating.
Since the uploader has forgotten most of the sources for these models I'm at a loss as to who to seek permission from/credit. I was hoping that perhaps some people on here might know where these have come from. I suspect a couple are from the Fall of Kobol mod and have already messaged that team to see if i can get permission to use that work.

So here are the models I've found. Hopefully they will all be added to the mod soon!

Aren't some of these models already in the current mod? Regardless, looking forward to the new version, the cylons do need a few more ships. Any chance we can get the Ares as a buildable ship, with cannons instead of lasers?

As for Deadlock, I burned myself out on it within two days, purely because I played so much of it, though I don't like the model for the Jupiter.

Nope, none of these are in the mod. I have a viper mk1 model but that one is missing firebones so isnt useable.

I also dont like the Jupiter model, or deadlocks explanation for why they changed it. I feel it should be more powerful as well, it doesnt feel as tough as a jupiter should. Also why does it only have the same number of viper squadrons as the smaller artemis?

5th down is Fall of Kobol, 11th down is, and 13th down is also. Idk if they are theirs by origin, but I've seen them in the mod.

I haven't played deadlock yet but I personally think their explanation makes a lot of sense military wise no matter whether in reality or scifi.

Model and textures do look great in their game. Never the less and that's the beauty of being a modder. Do it as you want or feel it's right.

Good luck. I hope you will get the permission for every model listed here and if not and the author(s) remain at large use it anyway with the hint that you didn't create it and should the author see this work as his or hers to contact you asap so you can credit them properly or in the worst case scenario take it off the mod.

Have you seen another explanation than i have? The commentary ive seen said they changed the appearance of the Jupiter class (including Galactica) because they wanted the ship to pay homage to both the new and old series Galactica's

Which they did by having both old and new ships together. While I do like the new look for the TOS ship, the Jupiter is too new to need a redesign.

The change to the Jupiter has to be my biggest gripe with the game to be honest. I wouldn't have minded half as much if it still featured galactica as it should be and said that the other Jupiter classes were improved models as tech advanced during the war.
I mean, assuming this game is canon, that means that Galactica started off with fixed flight pods, three support beams per side and a bunch of other changes.
Then was vastly altered (basically rebuilt) mid war and fitted with retracting pods and two beams per side, fitted with an extra two engines, uparmoured and upgunned (blood and chrome version), then had the extra armour and guns stripped right before the final battle at end of the war so it would look like it's second war appearance. Ugh

From what I understand of Galactica's lore. the ship stayed in it's blood and chrome war configuration up until the decommissioning and conversion process.

I didn't mind the design update for the Ares/Artemis, made the ship look newer while still keeping the classic appearance.

Yeah i have no problem with the artemis.
The thing is, we see galactica in its stripped status during the razor flashback to the last day of the war. Now I can buy the idea that something happened between B&C and then, maybe they were running short of guns and armour abd figured two weaker ships was better than one OP one.
But changing from the deadlock appearance to the B&C/post war appearance would require a massive conversion

Well just go without it then. Most players probably wouldn't even notice. I myself didn't notice while watching the trailers and game play vids till someone in it mentioned it. ;) After all Deadlock is not canon lore wise. No matter how much that dev team would like it to.

Either that add 2 researches for Jupiter.. Starting normally with it's 3 support beams then it's B&C version till the post war version with missing hull plating etc.

Probably just a matter of model swapping in the build button menu. Ofc. ya and that's possibly the biggest issue are the missing models and textures for at least 2 of the versions. Finding willing to help model artists should be a lot easier now with that game being out and EAW having mp support again. :)

Oh i was never planning to add it. I just like it when things all tie together in the lore. It would have been nice to have a game that was canon and tied into the lore with a proper looking Galactica, and a bunch of things that could have cleared up lore questions (like how many vipers a ship has etc). Or alternatively they could havd just not featured Galactica so theres no issue then. I play deadlock and will continue to do so as the appearance change is not drastic enough to **** me off. But i just wish they hadnt altered the appearance of the titular vessel on a whim.

I was browsing the Net for some new BSG Art when i stumbled about something familiair.
I am the Guy who uploaded the BSG Mod on Steam and I found some more Notes about it on Old Drives which might clarify the Origin of some of the Models.

2.) Viper MarkI Model
from Eaw Foc Colonial Wars Mod redone by me adding Working Bonesusing 3DsMax for EAW.

3.) Raptor Model

A CRaider Collage done by Me using EAW Colonial Wars Mod Raider Model taking apart the Model changing the outer wings to resemble the more Claw like shape of the 2b Design seen in BSG Razor Miniseries and darkening the Models Light and Brightness settings of the applied Textures.

Was inspired by a Design i saw in the Homeworld Fleet Commander Mod.

I hope that with Regard to the Models above I was able to help and as i stated on Steam in the Mod Description i do not take Credit for the all the Content and due to several people asking me about the Content of the Mod and where it came from inorder to use it themselves i started to go through some Old Drives that still worked to traceback the Origin of the Content.Its been some time since i worked on this myself and i kind of forgot alot about it.

Please to anyone who claims content of it as their own contact me on Steam via the Workshop and I will gladly Credit Him or Her or remove the Mod if so wished.

I can remember asking people of the above mentioned Mods (cant recall their Names) for permissions but i cannot remember if i got the OK from them or any answer at all.( Sorry about that I am getting Old )
