And people think that good things don't actually come to those who wait. We've got a small media update, the first in an upcoming series, with this one being a nice breakdown of our different player classes and the player models, as well as a bit of background to Neotokyo's setting.
Be sure to check out the update and drop by our forums or IRC channel and let us know what you think.
i love you guys! keep up the good work!
Finally! ;)
I noticed that people are commenting that this mod is just some anime version of CSS (worse still by asking if this is Counter-Strike Neo).
I hope people will realize that while the first update is only related to player models, that later on the team will explain the gameplay plans, continuing from their proof of concept test from UT2004. As far as I know, the gameplay will be a homage to the setting of the "Ghost in the Shell" manga/movie. Before people say again that NTS seems like a GitS rip-off, I'd like to remind them that there hasn't been an FPS that actually takes place in Shirow's setting, with that Fuchikoma game for PS1 and the GitS SAC game for PS2 not counting. And unlike in mods such as Hidden, Dystopia, and Nuclear Dawn, thermoptic cloaking takes a much greater role in gameplay, as it is more widespread among players.
And as you can see, this imagining of the setting has little to do with GitS itself, rather that it is an alternate view of Japan's future, hardly limited to Shirow interpretation from the early 90's (GitS the manga was finished in 1991, and still had Soviets).
All i read is people that complains and hate css :) What's wrong being told your mod is looking like the most played game ever?Seems to me that the game that people never actually will stop playing is counter strike. What i am saying is that it's not a bad thing to be compared with the most played game ever or is it?I can't see anything that looks like css in this mod though.Hope for an update soon.Keep the golden work up
