Last time food was added, well after that a lot more things were added to the game, now planetary landing was added as you can see in some of the still images in the library, still cities are on the work and will take more time to finish.
Also many more systems and other game mechanics were added in the past few months, you can now do farming in your ship, cooking your favorite dishes , sewing to fix some of your clothes, gun repair bench , threadmills so your crew can exercise and be fit, time tables so you can schedule different working hours, more traits, likes and hates, and much more.
