It took a LOT longer than expected both to develop, and to get released - but here it is
a shiney new reason to dust off UT2004 and jump back into the multiplayer massacre taking place right now out on the Killing Floor....
The list of improvements , additions , and changes from Killing Floor 2.1 is significant, but a (partial) compilation can be found in the installer.
CURRENT MIRRORS:
1. Files.gamefront.com
2. Moddb.com
3. Platinumarts.net
Thanks to platinum arts for this mirror, once you've got KF downloading, you should also check out Platinum Arts Sandbox and Doom 3 Coop Mod Last Man Standing Coop!
Note: to play you need UT2004 installed, and patched to v3369 + the ECE bonus pack
if you have an old copy of KFMod20 installed, delete it, and copy over completely.
this is not an incremental patch
Once you have tried it out, stop by the forums and tell us what you think of our work!

Here are a few of the key additions, check the installer for others!
Additions:

- Added "Veterancy" system, with 5 selectable classes, and perks.
- Added enemy "gibbing", and more responsive gore effects.

- Added new player models (Hazmat, Masterson,Stalker)
- Added new weapon "Flamethrower" available to buy from the "speed" category of the Trader shop.
- Added new server options for setting downtimes between waves, enabling veterancies, and setting the total number of max zombies which can spawn at a single time.
- Added "Iron sights" scopes to the "Bullpup", and LAW weapons. Can be activated with secondary fire. You may only fire the LAW while holding the "Iron sight".

- Added upgrades to the game "Lobby" including access to the options menu from lobby, a more accurate playerlist, "Timeout" controls which will toggle if 75% of players have readied up and one guy hasn't. and a failsafe time where the match will begin regardless, after a set time.

This day is great! This is Released and I FOUND MY OLD GARRYSMOD! I thought it was lost forever.
HEHE! Now everyone is getting pumped to play this mod.
nice job and finally! hope that this will bring kf back to life! it really deserve some popularity! i hopethat they will feature kf on here. =)
Hello, I have 2004 on my steam account. Can someone plz tell me how to install this on steam.
Find your Steam Folder, then the path is: Steam\SteamApps\common\unreal tournament 2004\KFMod20. Then, just run the batch file located inside the KFMod20 folder to play it, and steam will launch UT2004 automatically for it. Make sure it is named KFMod20 when installing, because otherwise the batch file won't run right.
Nice one, i laways the loved the dirty and raw look of this mod.
Will certainly try it :)
damn, i was hoping to try this update. but my unreal wont even load up multiplayer anymore
try deleting your ut2004 configs/preferences, that might help. you'll lose your campaign progress though.
well thanks actually what was wrong was i didn't know an update came out and when i killed the configs i tried joining again and found that it said i was using an old verson.. but i wouldn't have tried again had i not done that... now the only problem i have is every server but 1 is 300 ping :(
Congratulations on 2.5 release!
Now to try getting UT2k4 to run on my newer machine =o
i totally forget about this :P
How Do You Install Thid Mod If Your Got Unreal 2K4 On Steam?
Edit:Never Mind I Just Figured XD
Just want to say this is a great mod, theres nearly always servers to join, play it!
Killing Floor 2.5, mhm? Does that mean there will be another one, and will it be on Unreal Engine 3?
I really, really hope these guys can make it to standalone someday. I want to play this dearly.
for as much as UT2004 costs..... you could buy what? a mcdonalds cheeseburger :P
Only coast for Unreal Anthology 9.99
does it have bot support then? i read the list and it says "Addded improved Bot AI code" does that mean when u play multiplayer with your friends or can u play vs the AI alone?
you can play MP or with bots...you can also add bots to an MP game if you dont have enough players.
Once again, great job, Mr. Kadish :D I run a server for this game regularly. I'm located in California, so some of you may lag (and I may have to shut down because of the heat in the summer) but I run on broadband, so it's all good. It's called "Black Hand Server" and the max playercount is 4 to prevent too much lag. Join me sometime!
i get the following error
KFMod Build UT2004_Build_[2005-11-23_16.22]

You probably renamed the folder KFMod20.
I tried to be clever and renamed it KFMod25 and got the same error.
You must specify the install directory to be exactly /unreal tournament 2004/KFMod20/
for the KF-Menu.ut2 thing to work.
Hm, my advice may be mistaken, but I have the Steam version of UT2k4. Not sure how I got that message in the first place though.
The cause of this error is that you're missing the ECE Bonus pack, released by epic some time ago....install it.
An oversight on my part, in using one of their textures...
Another way to make this work without installing the pack...Simply make a blank map file and re-name it to "KF-Menu" and put it in the KF maps folder...
Thanks.
Hi guys,
Would you consider bringing back the Singleplayer side of the mod?
Can you mod be played with Bots?
Cheers
NSCXP2005
yea the singleplayer mode from KF1.1 would be awsome with this game (with saves so u dont have to start all over and stuff)
and yes u can play with bots ^^
One member of the 2.11 community patch team is making a conversion of the 1.1 singleplayer for the Story mode gametype. Join the forums to stay updated!
I'm gonna reinstall UT2k4 JUST for you!
you should make this for ut3
yes!! that would be fantastic to make it for the UT3 Engine.
I hope you decided to.
This version of the mod already has singleplayer support, it just needs maps.
I'd love to download this, but my damn UT2K4 takes up so much damn space...
well out of hd space? I can give u an advice. Get a new one! =)
I've got enough space, but it's just that my damned UT takes up 7GB. I think it's because I have Editor's Choice.
Help! Whenever I try to activate the mod, I get this error:
UT2004 Build UT2004_Build_[2004-03-03_02.42]

Do I download the ECE pack from the Ownage Maps tab in the Community section at the UT2004 menu?
Oh, and there is a KF-Menu in the KF maps folder.
How do I know if I've installed it correctly? I've installed the FK2.5 into the UT2K4 folder. How do I start up FK?
the installer should create a launcher or start it up in the ut2004 mods menu(click the community menu or w/e on the main menu and you'll see).
And u can always launch it directly on the kf directory. File named "Play Kf" it will launch kf directly and you will save some time.
I've yet to play with other people but Killing Floor is great. The maps are all very detailed have thick, spooky atmospheres and the combat is great. It's downright scary to play, with creepy monsters everywhere.
The only problem I've had with bots so far is that I can't make them follow me around! They just wander off and die easily. Sometimes they get stuck on welded doors, too. Otherwise they do a great job, and I'm impressed at the navigation of the monsters too. I've yet to find a camping spot where I can't be reached by the AI.
Keep up the good work, this is an A+ mod.
if thats your opinion just from faffing about on your own, i think you'll find something to REALLY love in this mod when you can jump on a 12 + man server ;)
The mayhem is godlike.
I'm going to see if I can get a big game going at the next LAN I visit. We've usually got a good amount of people playing UT2k4 so I hope I can get a big zombie-survival-fest going. Until then I might see if I can find some servers with decent ping.
I really wish people would vote for maps we actually HAVE. I'm tired of not being able to find every little user made map buried in forums and UT doesn't download maps like Steam does. Maps load a percent of a percent, every five seconds. I lose connection before I even reach 40%.
well u have seen the map pack in their site? it contains lot of community made maps. U haven seen a map yet which x map pack won't have. so chek it out. hopefully u don't have to wait downloads anymore
Haha. I mean I haven't seen map which isn't in that map pack. Sorry for "typos".
