Introducing the Humble Indie Bundle!
This is an awesome pay-what-you-want indie video game / charity promotion that we are trying out. Please watch this video to find out what it's all about, or read on!
Pay What You Want
Basically we're taking 5 classic indie games: World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD and Penumbra Overture and bundling them in a pay-what-you-want sale. Please remember though, we're just humble indie developers and the more you contribute, the easier it will be for us to make awesome games in the future.
Cross-Platform: PC, Mac and Linux
You've heard us mention how important it is to support Mac and Linux in addition to Windows, and for this promotion we didn't want to leave anyone out (we owe special thanks to the amazing Ryan Gordon for helping make this possible).
No DRM
We already echoed the philosophy which should be common knowledge among mainstream developers about why DRM doesn't make sense. As our thanks for your participation in this humble bundle, your user-experience will not be inhibited by any DRM.
No Corporate Middle Man
Please know that there is no distributor acting as a middle man for this promotion and taking a cut of the proceeds. Your contributions will go directly to support the developers and charities (minus payment processor fees).
Buying The Bundle Helps Charity
By default two charities, Child's Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation share an equal part of the bundle proceeds with the five games. However, you can also customize how your donation will be split in step 3.
So Please Help Us Spread The Word!
We are really excited to see how this turns out. We don't have a marketing budget so please tell your friends about the bundle. Tweets and Facebook shares are greatly appreciated.
We also want to thank the other indie developers for being bold enough to partake in this exciting experiment with us. Aright, enough reading, GO VISIT THE SITE!
AWESOME BUNDLE IDEA! Too bad I already have all the games... or is it =)
EDIT: Any way I can gift it to a friend over Steam?
nvm we can't, thx Jeff for answering
Aw, sneaky Jeff helping him before I managed to. :[
hehe, Wolfire IRC ftw!

Great idea! :D
I was not trolling,just answered Awesome_ninja's question.Of course i like this bundle deal ( bought 6 ).
Ye great idea but it's a shame i bought some other pack some time ago but i might still buy it since it goes to charity and of course the developers.CHARITY FTW!
^^, as long as it works and the developer earn the money they deserve for their "awesome" games.....a guide would be good of the money they need/the average donated money^^
Good Luck, it's a great Pack with great Games, so People:
BUY IT!!......please^^
ah... heck, again no money on my paypal account -_-
If your account is linked to a checking/savings account, it can withdraw automatically. (if that's what's stopping you)
Awesome Idea! I'll grab this even though I have a few of the included games :P
Lovely! I bought the Organic Pack before but I've never had Lugaru, great to try it out properly at last!
hot flaming cow pies, thats awesome.
great pack
Gish and world of goo are 2 of the best indie games out, played them when they won awards before going onto retail, srsly get this pack.
WoG was retail AND wii AND DRM free AND steam all at the same time. I don't think any other indy game has ever done that. I don't think *ANY* game has ever given you so many choices on how to buy!
Ah **** ... I wanna buy this but I know I've only got a few cents in my pay pal account ...
(paying 20 cents for this stuff would feel worse than stealing it X_X)
Your still giving them money, nevertheless, I imagine that a lot of a little adds up.
If you can't get any more money in a coming week pay what you can I guess...
$8...does that make me cheap?
yes, but it's still better than a few people that payed 1 cent....
I was gonna pay the same, paying 1$ or something would make me feel bad and wouldn't do anyone any good :)
Haha... This is sort of counter-productive for me. I don't have the money for what they're worth, and I can't bring myself to pay less than what they're worth. Conundrum...
Will the statistics be released to the public? I think that would be quite interesting. I fear most people just paid some cents. well it seems normal these days...
IT'S GOOD AS LONG IT'S FREE!!! ...
as usual
They are available in real time on the bundle site. It's pretty fun to refresh the site from time to time and watch the numbers go!
Yeah... they're already over $100K... so I guess it's doing well...
Nic try, I hope that someone buy it.
If you wanna buy it but already have, gimme it :D
And i have em all already xD and they are all good :p
You have some cool marketing ideas that are well-deserved and hurt no one. I like how you guys make the most out of your projects by doing the right thing. Big developers could learn from this!
there should be a predicate for developers with a soul. Why not make one?
HOLY ****!!! THIS IS THE BEST DEAL I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!!!! so i can basically pay a cent?!?!?!!! WOOOOOOOOOW, but i won't, this is for charity and i won't be a scum ;
Just wanted to leave a drop of my support here even if I'm not interested in buying the pack.
Great stuff guys, you're the greatest, keep it up!
$30, about £20 in real money.
It felt about right.
$20 to the devs, $5 to each charity
A generous deal !
Hum, only about $7,50 on average... Thats like $1,50 for each game - looks like nothing...
But I think the publicity and mass of ppl buying this now will hopefully be worth much more :)
I had to buy it :D. I paid $15 as that is all i had left but great deal guys :D keep these coming and people will end up paying alot to you guys.
AWSM! Bought it! :D
-But what I'd really like to see again, though, is a pre-order package containing Overgrowth! Missed the last one with Natural Selection... :,(
Btw...Anyone else having Lugaru.exe dying on you every time you die inside the game? I've tried it (both the demo and HD-version) on several computers, and it's always the same:(
Pretty sad, as the game is ******* epic.
Try turning off motion blur, that may help
Thanks! Now it doesn't just end every time I die...though it still freezes sometimes when I complete a level:/ I'm beginning to get tired from replaying the same levels over and over...
Still addicted, though;)
I think it has got something to do with the strange red video-clip that stutters over my screen at the end of each level... Is there a quick and easy way to remove this video?
Okey, I know this probably not the place to nag about problems and bugs, but holy fujfhlkhafg!! I've returned to the raider camp after defeating Jack 4 times now!! That's like 7 stages away!!! Why doesn't it at least save my progression!?
GRRRARAARRGHHH
I shall spread the word!
Too bad, I'd have payed more but I'm not getting more money until after this amazing deal. Oh, well, not like I can't donate on my own.
Nice idea. Shall pass this on :)
I just bought the bundle, great idea, great games and best song!
Question: Who here has paid over $20 for this?
Someone paid $500,
three people paid around $200,
and a bunch of people paid around $100.
I don't think everyone's in it for the games, a lot of people are doing it to support the devs and charity.
I've paid 50$. IMHO it's a very nice way to support the devs / charity (and all of those games rock). I know that not all people (esp. younger ppl) can't afford much money, "pay what you want" is a very great way to also get those players involved. A bit of money is always better than "piracy".
And this is why I respect an indie developer more than any big time developer, with the possible exception being Valve.
