For the longer "Blah Blah Blah" version: How to Install TFN 1.5 HD

For a manual install:
Step 1. Install VTMB into any folder you'd like, but don't install anything with it, a clean copy only.
Step 2. Install TFN 1.6+ HD into the root folder of Bloodlines, the folder that contains vampire.exe.
Step 3. Find vampire.exe, right click on it and hover your mouse over "Send to" and choose "Desktop (Create Shortcut)".
Step 4. Right click on the new shortcut you just made on your desktop, and click "Properties".
Step 5. Find the Target. Add " -game tfn" at the end of the command line but don't put the quotes " " in there. Here's an example of what it should look like.

"C:\Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines\Program Files\Vampire.exe" -game tfn

Of course, your location path will be wherever you installed it too.

1.6 HD isn't out yet. Our release date is set for late June/early July. I'll be making an announcement as soon as I have a set date on that. For now, we are alpha testing over the next few weeks and assuming things go well, we'll release shortly. In the meantime, we're making videos to inform everyone of what's to come. ;)

Zer0morph, does this come with the unofficial patch included, or have you created your own version of an unofficial patch with 1.5?

I've been playing on the unofficial patch for years and I'm interested in trying new clans and new skills. Should I just wait a little longer for 1.6 or give 1.5 a go?

We started building TFN back in 2010, which back then used the 6.5 unofficial patch. From that point forward, we began fixing our own bugs and the UPs fixed theirs. A decade later, TFN and the UPs are so different that we can't just slap one on top of the other, so we just borrow fixes from each other.

If it were me, I would wait for 1.6 because it's going to be so much better than 1.5. If I was absolutely dying to play though, then I'd start now... it really just depends on how Predator you're feeling at the moment, haha!

I recall hearing you say in one of your videos that you receive less experience points in TFN than in vanilla. Is that true?

If so, is there any way to scale it back to normal? I'd like to get two of my disciplines maxed out by end game on the Samedi, and try to maintain a good level in talents, but I don't know if that's even possible.

It's true. So if you go to C:\...\tfn\vdata\system\experience_table.txt, edit that with notepad and you can make your own values.

Thanks, man.

One other quick question. If I were to take, say, the experience table from the Unofficial Patch and use it to replace your experience table, would that F up the additional quests that you've added or completely ruin the experience?

I've noticed that you've done a lot of changes and if I could just copy paste the original experience table in there to restore it back to normal amounts of xp, I'd do that.

Yeah, it would. What I would do is use a program like WinMerge (it's free) to do a file compare, a side-by-side comparison so you can see which quests are the new ones. I placed most of the new quests at the bottom of the XP file. If you just cut/paste TFN's new quests into the UP XP file, you should be good to go. Of course, it might mess up technical names of quests if Wesp changed any of those, I didn't change them in TFN.

The most accurate way would be to use WinMerge and do a file compare and just change each quest individually.
