Gothic 2 - Riisis Edition - Announcement and Teaser Trailer

I'm currently working on my Gothic 2 Mod. The so called "Riisis Edition" will be a Content Mod for Gothic 2.

I decided to upload a little teaser for my mod to gain a little bit of attention. I need your ideas, so please leave a comment, interact with me and give me an idea of what you would like to see in a Gothic 2 content mod. Some things you miss since release or features other Mod's haven't included.


But for now enjoy my little Announcement Teaser:


I just want to make the game feel like it was back in the day, but with more lore-friendly content. Mostly new items, enemies and completely new ways to play the game and much more.

If Bethesda can do something like that. I can do it too. :D

Well, first of all don't make it so "rebalanced" like l'hiver, that mod has no balance at all, you can die by a giant rat at lvl 30 with paladin armor. Make it that the player can feel a difference in his powers while he is leveling up, maybe also adding some difficulty levels to chose from (easy, medium, hard). You can also make something similar to jarkendar, maybe you can use the sleeper brotherhood from gothic 1, making them try to bring back the sleeper or to make him stronger, knowing that the undead dragon is the sleeper, and you stop them by hard working together with Lester (because he doesn't do anything at all in gothic 2, he's useless)

Sorry I won't include difficulty Levels, the Balance of the Game isn't the players choice. I have ideas regarding that. I won't outbalance the game, i expand what's already there, i will keep the balance from notr as good as possible. (For Example: I want to add Helmets, so i have to change the Armor's according to the helmets, so it wouldn't be to easy and get more Armor then before.) You have to use your head and think and then you will overcome anything i throw in your way. I have Ideas for nearly anything.

And regarding your story suggestion, something like this is already planned and i may steal one or two ideas out of your post. So thank you for help. :)

The scattered remains of the old cult consisting of thieves, murderers, loons, and other undesirables that was forced to work together when they were behind the Barrier traveled to the uncharted part of the island only to resurrect their cabal in order to worship yet another supernatural being supposed to be another incarnation of the Sleeper even though it didn't reveal itself to anyone except to its selected servants.

Of course, one can hypothetize that the people from Swamp Camp were a tight knit of brothers in madness, and a thing like traveling to rough, distant lands only to reestablish their sect was "normal" to them, or that the newest {dragon undead} iteration of the Sleeper (even though this isn't confirmed anywhere) decided to make them privy to its plans, but all of this seems like an unlikely occurrence.

It would be better to install a completely new group in another Gothic 2 addon mod than try to bridge content of both games again via addition of improbable string of events.

You don't know what i want to do. Be patient. I said before i won't blow up my game and will do logic steps forward. I won't add a completely new group out of nowhere. It has to be a logical extension of what's already there.

The seekers are official members of the swamp camp. Just O into one with Marvin and you will see. :)

EDIT: A completely new group with no or bad dialogue just kills it imo.

fair enough. just thought it would make perfect sense to build over patched game rather than fix hundreds of bugs yourself.

That's not what YAUP does. It is a Mod with a completely different goal, it has many features i don't want to include because i have a different idea of what i want to do with it (f.e. summoning).

I based my Mod on Sargon's and Fizzban's Scriptpatches so there are many bugfixes included already, read the log of those. I will include many different ideas and bugfixing as well.
