EZ2 Demo released!

Posted by on

The Entropy : Zero 2 demo is now available! You can download it here. We are also including a Steam Art pack for players who wish to dress their library entry for EZ2. You can find that here.

We have also packaged the demo with FGDs to help mappers get into the EZ2 mapping game early. Mod installation instructions are below, but check out this shiny new trailer first:

Installation

  1. You will need to have Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer installed.
  2. Extract the folder to your Steam/Steamapps/Sourcemods folder and restart Steam. The demo will then appear in your library.
  3. Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer will need to be set to use the ‘upcoming’ beta. You can select this by right-clicking on Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer in Steam, clicking on the Betas tab and selecting ‘upcoming’ from the drop-down menu.

Bug reporting and feedback

We appreciate all constructive feedback. We will be actively collecting feedback through demo channels on our Discord server. Come and join us here.

I found a kind of two-in-one door on the second map, were I click on it the knob moves but there's another static knob underneath.
On the map with APC I got stuck between some rocks in the part where you can enter some building before the big fight with a bunch of rebels, and the Hutner didn't accompany me until after I got through the gate.
Personal thing, but I feel like the setting is odd, like all the facilities and highway tunnels were built into a glacier, maybe add more terrain.
And I think the unskippable cutscenes were taking it too slow, there's too much time between next lines and segments where nothing informative happens. I hope that's just there to tease the full story and on release it won't be like that all the time.
Overall really good for the first half, and a bit iffy for the second half.

Yeah, the transition cutscenes are just for the demo to tease what the player doesn't get to play until full release, so these are demo exclusive!

Hi, so uh. I've put the "EntropyZero2Demo" folder in sourcemods, and I have Source SDK Base 2013 SP installed, with it set to Upcoming, but I can't find it in my steam library.

Can't wait to try this out later.
Also, the mapping stuff makes me wonder: will we get that mythical Combine Destiny 2 mod eventually using this game as a base? :p

I think it would be more plausible to make vortigaunt zombies with fast headcrabs. Fast headcrabs are faster and allow the owner to move faster than a regular zombie with a regular headcrab, it is possible that zombies with a fast headcrab should be even more aggressive and use the closest attack using a magic attack

I have a bit of a problem. Right after the valve intro ends the game just crashes midway through the loading screen. Is there a solution to this error?
