It's been a while since we last spoke, you and I. This month has been a feverishly busy one, but I have not forgotten about you.
May means flowers and springtime and happiness! May also means awesome new models and art! We've talked about the progress of one of our fantastic multi-talented developers, Spire. Now we finally get to show the great work he has done since being a permanent Dystopia developer!
First, we'll go ahead and show the Vending Machine models, complete with four varying textures! Spire adopted corporation names from the Dystopia universe with names like Acid Drinks and SoyKaf. The vending machines leave a eerie feeling of unwanted corporations in a world swarmed with eminent companies that know more about you, than you do.
In accordance with having a Vending Machine to dispense delight to the masses, the delight must be produced! The cans modelled by Spire feature some of our most favorite beverages that are now readily available to all, including beloved Pulse, Riot, ChemXeed and Fuzz. So many flavors, who would ever get tired of such a natural treat!
(CompCola, Pulse XTREME, Riot, Soma, Dual Imp, ChemXeed and Fuzz contain no natural flavoring and are made with 100% artificial flavors and ingredients, no water added. WARNING: In studies, Ultra Clash has shown to decrease white blood cell count.)
Next, Spire's version of psycore's Public JIP model has two different flavors for Corporate and Punk. Corporate Public Jack-in Points are ones that corporations might set up so that people outside of their organization may use them without the proper safety credentials. However, these Jack-in Points are always under heavy surveillance by security officers -- they're not cheap, and certain information should never be open. The Punks however have a different mandate to this ideology, information is free, all the time. Public Jack-in Points do not just harness information and are expensive to upkeep, they are also fast and robust pieces of equipment. Thus, Punk theft of these powerful Jack-in Points are at an all time high. Remodificaiton of them to use non-corporate networks has seen a rampant rise in network piracy.
Finally, we'd like to welcome our newest additions to the team. Evil_Ice, a very talented modeller, texture artist, level designer and programmer has graced us with his presence on the Tryouts Team. We look forward to showing some of his fantastic work in the future! Also, Warsprite has joined the ranks as a permanent developer to help with Public Relations, Human Resources, Production and Project Management. With quite a lot of work ahead of him, you can expect that 1.2 will be out in a timely manner with lots of information to keep the public satiated!
We would like to welcome all of the new help, and encourage that everyone take a look at our help wanted parts. We have one position open for a talented Sound Engineer!
We would also like to suggest that while waiting for our next version, people be sure and check out the upcoming version of the popular modification Eternal Silence with it's next release slated for 06-06-2008! As fans of many great Source modifications, the Dystopia Developers will definitely be waiting patiently for this!
Next month, be sure to stay tuned for our most recent programming updates, including showing what is new and what is fixed. An exciting time to behold!
Nice media!!
White blood cells are overrated, anyway.
Very nice media, but how does this affect gameplay? :p
Awesome screenshots. Looking forward to the day this is released. The dystopia servers are gonna be packed.
I hope this doesn't mean the vending machine in fortress is gonna be fixed... I rather like free soda.
