For this special "Vote For Us" edition of the weekly news post we are experimenting with a Flash narrative. It features renders of DCD's first map, Kiyoko's pinball level. The map will be completed almost entirely out of static meshes.
For those of you who have difficulty speaking robot, here is a transcript:
Kiyoko's Pinball Map: What would inspire a ninja to dream of pinball? Who can understand the inner workings of the subconscious? Transported onto a pinball playing field, players will be able to use the popBumpers, slingShots, and flippers to help prolong combos, tally points, and deliver damage to unwitting opponents!
Kiyoko welcomes you to the world of Dream Casters' Duel!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has voted for DCD thus far. I would also like to thank moddb.com for awarding Dream Casters' Duel the "Mod of the Moment" award!
Be sure to check out dcdthegame.com and the DCD forums! Thnx!
Heh, great idea. Keep up the good work, buddy.
Really, really well done. Now lets see what they see about it being the same every week :P One thing that would be better though, is if you could get a voice actor to do the voice.
Thnx!
Lol, well it is yet another one of my Flash animations, and none of the characters are new, so I expect some "constructive criticism" repeating how repetitive my posts are. :)
Yeah, the robot's voice is a tad sub-par. I'm also disappointed that the audio doesn't sync as well as it did when I was creating it.
All in all though, :)
pretty damn good man.
Really cool map :D
instead of producing .swfs try producing .bsps
@ leilei
Those sfws are probably from already made bsps. stfu.
looks awesome guys. i look forward to playing this mod!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im voting this as mod of the year!!!!!
Salohcin is right you know.
Just ignore him like everyone else on this site does.
my point is, focus on the damn game not the promotional materials
This isn't criticism, constructive or otherwise. It's an ignorant, erroneous statement. The Flash animation was not created at the expense of work furthering the mod, but created from renders evidencing it's further development.
If you do not wish to see mod promotional materials, wtf are you doing visiting the moddb.com frontpage?
alright, don't make a game then.
