I hope you all are enjoying our latest release. A week passed from the release, and now, it's time to continue working on the next release.
In order to do that, we need your help. We need all of you to post about bugs found in this release. So please, post them!
We are planning to continue work in order to make 008 very similar in gameplay to 007. We will also work on challenge fixing and maybe even story. So stay tuned!

- Do not report about not working USA Laser challenge!
- Do not report about USA Air Force challenge crash.
- Do not report about not working AI if you didn't rename "Scripts" folder to "Scripts1".
- Do not report about about game crashing when explosion happens and you didn't try to play it with Heat Effects OFF.
So when do you expect the next version will be released?

Search for "Generals DirectX 8.1" in Google. See which solution works for you.
The new maps don't have ai that works
Areas and paths were added on all new maps. Which maps don't have AI?

The GLA Ai just builds the barracks
the others may do the same
And in generally at AI for GLA was a stupor, even in the 1t alpha Contra 008, but no one fixed this mistake.
That's not a map problem. It's just an AI glitch of GLA Toxin and GLA Demolition generals.
And I also speak that in all these alpha and beta Contra 008. AI for GLA Toxin, Demolition and Stealth just barracks and arms dealer building. Maybe you have the possibility to remake?
I've noticed its because they build those then try to do something, and if you stop them they don't change it or retaliate, they just keep wasting cash on that objective.(Ex: capturing your oil refinery)
This problem is already here since Contra 007. On all non-official maps (which are the maps introduced by contra itself and maps you make by your own) have 0 AI support for all Generals.
Guys, if you could fix the Challenge mode...

In a skirmish game, some of Al wont build, they are, Flame general, Cybernetic general, Assault general... and on insane they are so weak, not as in Contra 007, they were just "smarter" and attack more.. When taking to face few Poison generals it causes mismatch...Challange mode against Laser general didnt work as you know. Sometime when I rename folder Scripts to Scripts1 cause me a technical deficulties, but when I don't rename folder, it works perfectly. When playing lan game against frineds sometimes I get mismatch on some maps like Fallen Empire, Destruction Zone and few other I dont remember now..
When you don't rename the folder, your AI is the old ZH one. That's why new generals won't work. When you rename it, AI loads from Contra files.
I am getting mismatches with friends as well. Unfortunately quite a common thing. But we can join our parties and play against each other.
ah just seen a bug with the laser general challange when you have destroyed all of hees buildings units the game wont end i am the airforce general now havent tested it with other generals so that might be it also
This bug has been reported over 9000 times.
Ah i also reported it once in the beta 1 now atleast the cutscene in the start works thou forgot that i reported it once already

When playing challenge as Assault vs SWG I can't use tunel ability nor that tunel rig launcher on other islands. Perhaps Assault's ability messes with map settings to give GLA sneak attack instantly.
GLA Stealth General Panic general power causes mismatched game. I already try this once but when I launch panic, the game disconnect itself.
Also, I don't sure whether it is but or its your intention but the Seraph seems to fire only missile to infantry, not all weapons.
Okay, we will test Panic.

It's crashed when I open menu.
I solved my problem.
played with AI and infantry general came and capture supply depot of laser general and sold it
also in the same game when tank general para dropped tanks in laser general base tanks that are falling are being hit with laser defense turret and receive little or no damage
AI will always sell your buildings after capturing them. We can't change it.
Not sure if there's a fix for this. The falling tanks are considered as aircraft, but they still have their tank armor. I'll ask our coder.

also i have a question wil you make the sound packs from 006 compatible with 008 sometimes they work sometimes not usaly they dont work

annoying thing about artillery sometimes when they go in "firing mode" they stay in it i can't move them or by pressing the "S" stop button this is a problem when enemy is approaching and you need to move and run (they sometimes move eventually after few seconds but for some it is too late)
noticed it with all artillery that have to lift cannon to fire (for example assault general, all china, sw general, sometimes elbrus launcher)
this is something i have experienced through 007 and now 008
Although I understand the first 3 points, I have to say that the 4th one is completely ********. You guys don't mention anywhere in the installation instructions that I have to disable it, so it's not surprising you get that question alot. Also, it's not OUR problem that we have to disable the heat effects in order to play the game. It's not OUR fault that we have to disable it, but it's YOURS!
Btw, not sure if it's already listed somewhere, because I already posted it, but I still experience the 'invisibility'-bug sometimes.
Whenever I let 4 Nemesis' and 2 Particle Cannon's be completed at exact the same time, everything in the game get's a sort of seizure. All buildings, unit's etc can't be targeted nor selected, lot's of buildings and unit's become invisible for some part, some unit's actually turn into a really long black sprite (like if their sprites has been stretched out to infinity).
There I find a problem presents in both beta and beta2. The Laser General challenge map may have a bug. I destroyed all the the buildings of General Townes, but it did not declare victory.

You're right there is a bug. But you can pass the Laser Gen! Just put the files 00000000.016 and 00000000.256 from Contra 007 and replace existing files in Zero Hour folder. When you distroy all the building there will be "YOU ARE VICTORIOUS! :) I hope that I helped.
