C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux v1.4 to be re-released next month!



After a 3 year hiatus, the popular C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux Mod will finally make a new public release soon with a batch of cool new features and improved gameplay. The ALL NEW version 1.4 will be made public as a full release by the end of the year and it will be MUCH more stable and more fairly balanced. Prepare to return to the first Tiberian war!

Major fixes and re-balancing work have been done and the AI has been totally rebuilt for both skirmish matches and for the existing campaign missions. The AI this time around is not to be underestimated. The use of the Ion Cannon, Airstrikes, and Nuclear Missile has been improved. Simply rushing an AI controlled base could trigger the AI to use them against you at a moments notice! The AI will more intelligently select priority targets to pick off and destroy, whether it be your Power Plants, Construction Yards, Tiberium Harvesters, or masses of expensive vehicles or base defenses, if you screw around and camp in your base, you will die! While not as intelligent, even the Easy AI will keep you on your toes and swarm your base. The AI will even send in random Engineer rushes under the protection of APC's which can cost you many valuable vehicles and buildings if you are not careful.

And here are a few updates and enhancements to the in-game models and environments.

A faster loading Shellmap file. (The Menu Screens) Which will be available as an addon if you do not want the animated background (that has also been updated and optimized) from version 1.3 of the mod.

To address issues people have had with the game speed in the campaign missions and other maps being exceedingly fast, a game speed controller as been built in. This was discovered this by accident a while back while digging through some user interface code in the menus and thru the gamedata.ini file. It actually works! It was benchmarked with FRAPS and by switching this on and off the game goes from 20-30fps to a blazing 65fps!

The only downside is because of the way the options menu is hardcoded, you will have to exit your ongoing game and return to the main menu to toggle this feature on and off.

This will be amazing. The last time I played this mod was some months ago when I played v1.3 with a friend, this surely is a reason to play again :D

Well, this version will be massively improved over v1.3! In fact it will be massively improved from the v1.4 beta that was released a couple years ago!
