This week, we worked on more concepts, character powers, sliding, options menus, and inventory system.
In the game, we want the characters to have abilities that will empower them and let them become the ultimate bounty hunters of the universe. Each character has a style from which their abilities resonate. For one of the first characters, they will have a military background and the first of their abilities will be a missile strike. There will be upgrades to these abilities as seen in the video. The first iteration of the ability was impact, which blows up upon impact and deals massive damage. The second iteration was an upgrade which disperses mini-bombs upon impact which causes a wider area of effect for the explosion.
As part of the ongoing parkour-themed updates, we now have sliding in the game. You character can now use their jetpack to slide across the floor. Doing this uses your jetpack fuel which can be dangerous if you need it to catch a fleeing bounty.
We started working on the options menus for the game as well which allows the player to setup how they want their controls to work and other game options. It may not be the most exciting thing in the world but it is needed and its nice to get it working sooner than later.
Although it is not showcased in the video, we also worked on the inventory a little as well. Ammo is now stored in the inventory. This means that the ammo is interchangeable between weapons. This also means that the player will have to manage ammo and ammo can now be dropped from enemies as look items.
Last but certainly not least, we have more concepts for the everybody. Our concept artist has been very busy making all kinds of things that will make the game look and feel more like a complete game. This includes everything from environmental to faces to gadgets and guns. Please check images section to see all of the newest images.
That concludes Update 7 for Bounty and we hope that you will come back next for a special update of Art and Assets.
