Post news Report RSS Blackened Interactive Assumes Development of Frontline Force

With the original development team about to give up, Blackened steps in and commits to finishing Frontline Force: Classic

Posted by on

Blackened Interactive is pleased to announce that we will be taking over the reins of Frontline Force: Classic, a Half-Life 2 modification based on the hit mod for Half-Life 1.

What does this mean? It means you'll see the Blackened principles in every facet of development. A condensed development time, similar to our work on Project Valkyrie, regular media updates to show the community our progress and let them help shape the mod that they will be playing, and professionalism in each aspect of our work.

With the acquisition of the remaining original developers into the team, we are committed to having the mod playable, on hard drives, in 2008. As everything falls in line, you can expect a more concrete release date.

What about the other projects Blackened Interactive is working on? Project Valkyrie will continue to be supported and we are hard at work on a content patch that will update the mod with new weapons, maps, and gamemodes.

In the coming weeks, you can expect more media, more news, changes to the website and forums, and more!

I liked FLF, I remember when this and FA were two of the biggest mods next to CS. Favorite weapon was the AK101. This is definitely on my watch list.

I kept watching this mod due to my absolute adoration of FLF's community (small as it was during the time I played) and I'm hoping that it'll continue to provide the exact same experience I loved it for. Unfortunately so many games these days love making silly changes under the pretense of "growth" and hopefully this change will not cause this to happen as it did with the last beta release of FLF. Granted, this mod will never be able to reach its full potential due to the engine it's being created on, but I'm hoping for the best anyways. Long live FLF, maybe I'll actually have a reason to reinstall that crap-tank HL2 once this baby hits the internet.
