ORION - MARCH 2010 UPDATE (1 of many)
We will be posting many updates leading up to the release of Beta 1.2. We will be giving in-depth previews to the new maps, talking about game fixes, new screen grabs and much more. We have a lot planned for March and this is only the first few days! Gear up!
ORION BETA 1.2 - MORE DETAILS
We are approaching the release of Orion Source MP Beta 1.2. The new beta adds 4 new levels, a new grenade model, an updated flag model and over 30 game fixes and tweaks. The best part is – no more server crash bug!
We are about to start doing stress testing on an updated build of 1.2. We have a release date in our heads but we are not yet ready to announce. We plan to be able to release date this Sunday evening – shortly after a large planned beta test that we have.
CTF_SHADOW
This week we are showcasing what may seem like a familiar map to some of you. This map was created by Dimension Studios, one of our development partners. Dimension Studios has been with us since the old days of Incoming. This level is called Shadow – which was developed many moons ago and even saw a release for Counter-Strike Source. Shadow was one of the maps that was resurrected when we re-designed the game and labeled it as Orion.
What you will notice straight off the bat is that this is NOT the same shadow or anything like it from Counter-Strike. This map has seen an insane amount of work and facelifts.
Shadow is a very hectic map with a lot of focal battle points leading to some very intense games of Capture the Flag.

Stop by and check out our website ( www.orion-project.net ) and come say hello on our community forums ( Orion-project.net ).
Release date to be announced this Sunday evening, or the patch will be released on Sunday in the evening? Confusing wording a bit right there.
Anyway, lookin' nice. Just hope there are some real big bug-fixes. Still haven't played the mod since it won't let me due to the game being buggy enough to not let me get into a game and instead crash-to-desktop.
My bad - We are announcing the release date this Sunday evening. Don't worry, it won't be that long of a wait (if testing goes well, knock on wood!)
The last version was horribly jumpy for me for some reason; my camera jittered worse than a Parkinson's patient. Apart from that, though, I loved the game. Here's hoping that this version fixes the one flaw in a truly great mod.
The jumpy aspect was actually the choke on the IGN servers. We have addressed this on most of the servers.
There was also a weapon "glitch" bug that makes the weapons appear to be jumpy. We haven't discovered this bug as we can't replicate it. If this bug continues for you please try and help us recreate it to the best of your ability.
However, along with many other bugs - it may be gone. I've personally never had it.
Oh i just have to admit those screenshots looks amazing. I do think this will rock alot, when it's bug free :) Can't wait
Brilliant art - very striking.
Nice.
sweeeeeeeeeet!
Environments are looking great guys! Source FTW
this is awesome, but we still need more people to play this mod. i mean ffs its awesome as all hell but i rarely see people get on the current build. this seems to happen to a lot of good mods.
Start a petition to get Valve to make a Steam News announcement about us and you'd see a huge spike in players. However, every time I email them I never get a response.
Amazing.
